Mechanic
Job Description Job Description We are seeking a skilled and dependable mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining light, medium, heavy-duty trucks and trailers to ensure they operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulations. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical skills, basic hand tools, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality workmanship. Key Responsibilities: Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on light/medium/heavy duty trucks, semi-trucks, and trailers. Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and equipment. Repair or replace defective parts, including but not limited to brakes, suspension, steering, tires, lighting, basic engine components, and trailer repairs. Conduct DOT annual inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards. Maintain accurate service records and documentation of repairs. Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and service vehicles safely. Provide excellent customer service, explaining repairs and recommendations clearly. Keep work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety regulations. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Proven experience as a light/medium/heavy-duty truck and trailer mechanic. Strong knowledge of engine systems, air systems, suspension systems, basic electrical diagnostics procedures, brake systems, and trailer components. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics. Proficient with diagnostic software. measuring technics, and proper tool usage to safely repair commercial vehicles. Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus). Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Must have basic hand tools. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 75 lbs. Comfortable working in various weather conditions. Ability to stand, bend, and kneel for extended periods. Work Schedule & Compensation: Full-time position: schedule may include evenings or weekends as needed. Competitive hourly rate depending on experience level. Company vehicle for service calls.
