We’re looking for a sharp, motivated Front Desk Receptionist to be the first face and voice of our office. Position Overview This is an entry-level role with a built-in path to grow. You’ll report to our Office Manager, but you’ll serve as a help to the whole team, supporting attorneys and staff as needed. You’ll be the eyes and ears of the office, running our front desk and knowing what’s going on at all times. As you build your skills, you’ll take on more responsibility and can grow into the role of assistant to the Office Manager, learning how the firm runs behind the scenes, including the administrative and HR side of the firm. Everyone who has held this role has advanced to a higher position based on their own goals. We’re looking for someone who wants to do the same. What You’ll Do Front desk: Greet clients and visitors, answer and route phone calls, and make every person feel welcome and respected, in English or Spanish. Eyes and ears of the office: Know who is in, who is out, who is expected, and what’s happening throughout the day, so you can direct people and answer questions without having to ask around. Client communication: Serve as a first point of contact for clients, take messages accurately, and get them to the right person quickly. Handle sensitive information with discretion. Attorney calendars: Stay familiar with attorneys’ schedules, including court dates, depositions, and appointments, so you know who is available, who is where, and what’s coming up. Correspondence: Assist with drafting and proofreading routine letters and communications. Office coordination: Manage deliveries and supplies, and keep the workspace running smoothly. Many of our clients are Spanish-speaking, and you’ll use both languages every day. Fast-paced customer service experience. We value restaurant host/hostess, retail, hospitality, call center, or similar work as much as office experience. You should be comfortable with a busy front end, many interruptions, and people who need help right now. Strong attention to detail. Names, dates, phone numbers, and deadlines have to be right every time. Situational awareness. You notice what’s going on around you, stay a step ahead, and know who needs to hear about something before they have to ask. Quick thinking and sound judgment. You can handle the unexpected calmly, use common sense, and know when to solve a problem yourself and when to ask. Critical thinking and initiative. You don’t wait to be told what to fix. You come up with creative solutions and make things easier for the people around you. Ambition and a willingness to learn. You’re confident in where you’re headed, eager to learn constantly, and ready to take on more as you grow. Professionalism and empathy with clients who may be dealing with injury, stress, or hardship. Technical skills: Comfortable with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat. Case management software experience is a plus but not required. We’ll train you. Team player who thrives in a close-knit office culture. Prior law firm experience is not required. Why Work With Us Real room to grow: We’ve added headcount, expanded our office space, upgraded our technology, and recently acquired another law firm, and that growth creates openings. Everyone who has held this role has moved up. Show initiative and we’ll help you build toward your goals. Constant learning: You’ll learn how a plaintiff-side litigation practice and a busy office actually work from the inside. Collaborative team: We value everyone’s input and solve problems together. Work-life balance: A supportive office with a standard Monday to Friday, 9-5 schedule and a 1-hour paid lunch (company’s treat on occasion!). Benefits: 401(k) matching after nine months, paid sick leave, paid time off, and free parking. Kisner Law, LLC is an equal opportunity employer.
