About the role Scope of Role: The Director of Electrical Engineering leads the Electrical Design Engineering team and is accountable for all electrical design activities supporting the Energy-from-Waste process across more than 30 facilities across North America. This role provides design leadership for electrical infrastructure across high-voltage (26 kV to 230 kV), medium-voltage (5 kV to 13.8 kV), and low-voltage systems, including high-voltage breakers, step-up transformers, turbine generators, balance-of-plant equipment, medium-voltage switchgear, motor control centers (MCCs), fans and motors, protective relaying, and short-circuit and arc-flash studies. The Electrical Design Engineering team also supports a broad range of plant systems and disciplines, including steam generation boilers and auxiliaries, feedwater pumps, deaerator systems, turbine generators, condensers, air pollution control equipment, ash handling and conveying equipment, and metals recovery systems. This position leads a team of electrical subject matter experts (SMEs) supporting key growth initiatives, including routine capital projects, major plant expansions, and feasibility studies for new facilities. Annual capital and maintenance reinvestment at Reworld exceeds $300 million and supports long-term assets planning. While this is a corporate engineering role, it requires extensive collaboration with site/regional teams; approximately 30% of travel is expected. Reporting to the Vice President of Engineering, this role also supports talent development, goal settings, budgeting, resource planning, feasibility studies, and project prioritizations. The Director Electrical Engineering, partners closely with cross-functional leaders, including Plant Support Engineering, Sourcing, PMO, Operations, Electrical Field Services, and Regional Engineering, to ensure discipline needs are met. The position may also support business development efforts by providing technical expertise and resourcing input. Key Responsibilities Technical: Discipline/Design Engineering: Manage, prioritize, and assign work across the Electrical Engineering team and SMEs. Feasibility Studies: Lead feasibility studies for new or retrofit designs, evaluating total cost of ownership (Capital and O&M) and recommending solutions that balance technical and economic considerations. Continuous Improvement and EHS: Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Problem Solving: Lead RCAs and coach SMEs in problem-solving methodologies to implement sustainable corrective actions. Lessons Learned: Drive the lessons learned program, incorporate site feedback, and update standards and specifications to improve future designs. Productivity and Unscheduled Downtime: Lead improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and deliver operational savings across facilities. Technical Risk Assessment: Lead technical risk assessments for electrical designs and retrofits, including SEOLDS, arc-flash studies, and protective relaying scheme reviews. Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA): Lead FMEA activities to support critical troubleshooting and reliability improvements at site locations. Low-Cost Country Sourcing: Perform Technical Due Diligence and provide recommendations for Projects involving Equipment sourcing from Low-cost countries. Leadership: Talent Management: Attract, develop, and retain talent; lead performance management processes for internal teams. Leadership: Professional Development: Provide guidance and support for talent development of Engineering SMEs. Requirements Education: Bachelor of Engineering/Science (Electrical Engineering) from an accredited institution. Experience: 15–20 years of experience in an electrical engineering role, including at least five years of leadership experience. Prior electrical design engineering experience in one or more of the following (or similar) industries: Architectural Engineering firms, Data centers, Power generating plants, Large industrial facilities (Chemical, paper, co-generation or similar industries). Experience with MV and HV systems (e.g., switchgear, motor control centers, protective relaying, transformers). Demonstrated experience managing technical teams is required. Experience across the project execution lifecycle preferred: concept design, construction, commissioning, and start-ups. Experience supporting facility operations and/or maintenance is preferred. What You’ll Do As a Chief Financial Officer, you will directly contribute to LifeLink’s life-saving mission. The CFO reports directly to the CEO and is responsible for managing the financial operations of LifeLink to include maintaining creditworthiness and expansion of working capital reserves to keep the organization solvent and able to fund its own growth. This role in responsible for directing overall financial policies and for overseeing all financial functions including accounting, billing/collections, cost reporting, contracting, financial reporting, budgeting, credit, tax, cash management, working capital reserve, and investment management. The CFO is expected to demonstrate expertise in a variety of fields, concepts, practices, and procedures related to overall business operations and strategy as well as using experience and judgment to plan and accomplish organizational and departmental goals. The CFO will work closely with senior leadership and is expected to manage numerous projects and lead and direct the work of others. Key Responsibilities: Provides the leadership necessary to ensure that the finance and accounting department remains a highly productive, goal oriented, efficient, and customer-service focused department. Supervise a team of accounting professionals, including functional responsibility over accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, Tissue Bank cost accounting, budgeting and donor accounting. Manages the high-level relationship with our Medicare reimbursement auditors and develops a strategic approach to managing reimbursement issues. Manages the high-level relationship with the LifeLink financial auditors. Develop and oversee the annual budgeting process, working closely with division and department leaders to develop realistic and achievable budgets. Monitor actual performance to budget, providing regular updates to the CEO and organizational leaders. Evaluates and negotiates the business terms of key contracts and business relationships and manages the organization’s overall approach to contracting. Works closely with the CEO and LifeLink management to support the process of establishing organizational strategies and direction. Acts as the Co-chair for LifeLink’s Corporate Compliance program. Develops strong and effective working relationships with many of LifeLink’s key business partners and advisors, including lawyers, bankers, auditors, investment advisors, and insurance brokers, among others. Act as the Board’s, the Audit Committee’s, and the Pension Committee’s primary financial reporting and accountability resource and contact. Provide routine reports to the Board of Governors, including updates on budget performance, and financial risks and opportunities. Acts as an overall financial business advisor to LifeLink’s top managers while focusing on improving service, improving LifeLink’s financial position, limiting business risk, and improving regulatory compliance. Act as the overall business advisor to the LifeLink Legacy fund including the primary financial reporting contact for the LifeLink Legacy Board and Finance Committee. Other areas of high-level oversight responsibility include: Assisting with the annual audit Issuing management reports and financial statements Reviewing capital requests Implementing operational best practices Developing performance measurements Identifying and eliminating control weaknesses Formulating financial, tax, and risk management strategy Arranging debt financing Investing funds Who You Are Passionate about helping others and making a difference Aligned with LifeLink’s core values of Compassion, Excellence, Legacy, People, and Quality Senior level financial executive with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; Master’s Degree and CPA designation being preferable. Minimum 10 years’ business, accounting, and management experience; such experience should include the direct management of professional accounting staff. Healthcare experience preferred. Working knowledge and ability to analyze financial statements, budget preparations. Ability to interact with Board of Directors and Senior Level Executives. Manage the treasury function including collections and cash management. Working knowledge of Medicare and Federal Tax Rules.
