Chief Financial Officer (California)

A privately held holding group operating businesses spanning manufacturing, distribution and direct to consumer ecommerce is hiring its next Chief Financial Officer. The portfolio carries combined annual revenue well north of a billion dollars across a dozen or more distinct operating entities, each with its own P&L, and the incoming CFO will sit above all of them as the single most senior finance voice in the organization. This person reports straight to the founder and ownership group, with no corporate layer in between, and takes ownership of consolidated financial reporting across the full portfolio as the current CFO transitions into retirement. The role carries real institutional weight for a closely held company: a standing board of directors, an active senior lender relationship with quarterly reporting obligations, and covenant negotiations that come with a nine figure balance sheet. This is built for a finance executive who has already run the numbers for one very large single brand and wants the rarer, harder version of that job: real consolidation across many legally distinct entities, not just multiple locations of one business. Responsibilities Own consolidated financial reporting, FP&A and treasury across a portfolio of distinct operating entities under one ownership group Serve as the senior most financial voice in the company, working directly with the founder and executive leadership on strategy and growth Present regularly to a board of directors and manage an active senior lender relationship, including quarterly reporting and covenant discussions Lead and develop finance and accounting teams across multiple business units, unifying systems, cadence and reporting standards Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash management and audit relationships across the full group Guide integration of acquired entities into shared financial reporting and controls Manage relationships with outside auditors, tax advisors and legal counsel on entity level and consolidated matters Requirements 10 plus years serving as Chief Financial Officer, not Controller or VP Finance years folded into the total Proven experience as CFO inside an organization generating $1 billion or more in annual revenue, held at that scale rather than grown into it Genuine multi entity or multi division financial oversight across legally distinct businesses or brands, not multiple locations of a single brand. Experience inside a holding company structure managing well over 100 entities is strongly preferred Background in manufacturing, consumer products, inventory heavy or distribution environments, including direct exposure to importing and accounts receivable at scale Early career foundation at a Big Four accounting firm Comfortable operating as the most senior finance leader in a closely held or family controlled company, with direct owner access and no corporate layer above M&A and integration experience, particularly folding acquired entities into a shared reporting structure J-18808-Ljbffr
