Qualifications Associate's degree in Nursing with Eighteen (18) months of related experience required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. If job is in a free-standing emergency department (FSED) location, one (1) year of experience must be emergency or ICU nursing experience. Position Description: Work schedule: Flexi/PRN Job Highlights: The UAB Division of Community Anesthesia includes a group of anesthesiologists and CRNAs that provide services to some UAB St. Vincent's facilities. The division allows busy community hospitals to use the cutting-edge, evidence-based approach to medicine found within an academic environment. These CRNAs have autonomy and enjoy a collegial working relationship with anesthesiologists and surgeons. The division's services are provided at the UAB St. Vincent's East campus, located northeast of Birmingham near the Trussville community. UAB St. Vincent's East is an acute care hospital that offers many surgical specialties, including orthopaedics, cardiac, GI, urologic, and a variety of ambulatory diagnostic services. The division provides anesthesia services for more than 10,000 procedures annually within 12 operating rooms. The team includes six anesthesiologists and more than 19 CRNAs who work together to provide the best possible care. Job Description: Provides anesthesia under the direction of an anesthesiologist for diverse surgical procedures and diagnostic tests. Participates in the clinical instruction of nurse anesthesia students. Key Responsibilities are performed under the direction of the anesthesiologists according to the policy and procedures of the Department of Anesthesiology.
