Project Engineer II

PC is seeking a Project Engineer to join our growing Seacoast Special Projects Group and contribute to the success of our self-perform team. The right candidate will have a degree in engineering or construction management, along with three years of experience in the overall direction, completion, and financial outcome of a construction project and/or the administrative activities, with self-perform experience. This individual will work closely with the owner, design, and construction team throughout the project lifecycle, and ideally will be a flexible, detail-oriented team player with expertise in architectural, civil, structural, and other commercial construction aspects, and a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) scopes of work. The individual in this position will be required to travel between our Manchester, NH, and Portland, ME offices and project sites. Key Responsibilities: Review design drawings and specifications to determine scope of work, intent, and identify potential issues. Meet with clients to review potential project opportunities, review available information, and develop scope of work based on existing conditions and client's intended project. Assemble and distribute bid packages. Manage subcontractor and vendor communication regarding scope, pricing, and schedule. Manage bid package addenda. Perform detailed takeoffs and assist in estimating projects. Obtain scopes of work and quotations from subcontractors and vendors. Perform scope and price reviews to ensure complete coverage of the work. Analyze, negotiate, and prepare subcontracts, purchase orders, change orders, and subcontract/PO change orders. Prepare agenda, take notes, and disseminate subcontractor coordination meeting minutes. Read and review the project's owner's contract. Generate and process RFIs. Prepare change orders to the owner's contract in CMiC. Develop and maintain the contract document logs (design drawings, specifications, ASI, etc.). Update and distribute documents such as design drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, potential change items, change orders, schedules, etc. Generate a submittal log at the onset of the project. Review submittals for compliance and compatibility. Expedite submittals as needed to ensure that construction activities aren't delayed. Perform duties timely so as not to delay field activities. Keep progress up-to-date in the project schedule. Modify the schedule as required to reflect changes to the owner's contract. Verify material deliveries for compliance to contract requirements and submittal data. Prepare and submit budget changes. Assign costs to the correct job cost structures. Assist with project closeout; track warranty information, as-built drawings, O&M manuals, test reports, etc. Participate in weekly team meetings. Senior Field Engineer

Exciting opportunity for a Senior Field Engineer working on multiple commutable Florida projects in Water Division. We offer a collaborative and problem-solving environment where our leaders are expected to support the learning and growth of their teams. The Field Engineer establishes and maintains all project control and layout and performs field measurements. Depending on project size and complexity, this position may include planning the site field engineering work and supervising field engineering employees. The right candidate will have high school diploma and should have a minimum of five years related experience as a Field Engineer and preferably on water/wastewater projects, or a four-year degree in engineering or surveying with an internship or one year of experience in construction. The individual in this position is responsible for establishing and maintaining all engineering layout controls and must be able to assume leadership roles in all phases of project layout. Key Responsibilities: Ability to perform site engineering work on mid to small sized projects with oversight from the project team. Ability to supervise field engineer assistants. Strong experience in the use and maintenance of surveying equipment such as robotic total stations, RTK GPS, data collectors, including Trimble and Topcon products. Basic skills in AutoCAD, and general computer applications, and mobile devices. Basic understanding of BIM software and technology. Able to keep neat field notes and sketches. Prepare and maintain sketches, maps, reports, and descriptions of surveys to describe and certify the work performed. Competent in the ability to read and understand drawings, specifications and submittals. Provide documentation, detailed instructions, drawings or specifications to tell others how devices, parts, equipment, or structures are fabricated, constructed, assembled, modified, maintained, or used. Able to post as-built information, RFI responses, and clarifications on the project record documents. Service, repair, adjust, and test machines, devices, moving parts, and equipment that operate primarily on the basis of mechanical (not electronic) principles. Tribrach, poles, tripods, optical plumb, etc. Able to do basic math with a willingness to learn plane geometry and trigonometry. Calculate heights, depths, relative positions, control lines, and other characteristics of the site. Able to calculate and record quantities (square feet, cubic feet, cubic yards, etc.) Depending on project, Pour Cards may be required. Able to set and understand the reason for accurate horizontal and vertical control for layout.
