Occupational Medicine Physician

A government contract requires that this position be restricted to U.S. citizens. This position requires a Common Access Card (CAC), and the ability to pass the U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) clearance process to acquire a Common Access Card (CAC). Provides comprehensive medical evaluations for MEPS applicants, ensuring full compliance with OSHA, Privacy Act, DoD, and USMEPCOM standards. Reviews medical records, conducts detailed histories and physical exams, interprets diagnostic tests, and identifies disqualifying conditions. Assesses all body systems, determines the need for additional exams, communicates abnormal findings to applicants, and updates medical staff for accurate database documentation. Assesses applicants for injuries, deformities, defects, and disorders across all body systems, including dental, psychiatric, and behavioral, and conducts a standardized orthopedic-neurological exam. Determines the need for further physical examination of identified problem areas. Directly informs applicants of abnormal findings through personal consultation or written communication. Conveys updates to medical staff for entry into the USMEPCOM-specific applicant database. Performs other job-related duties as assigned Physician Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested: Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This position has been designated as non-sensitive and requires a personnel security investigation. All Health Care Providers must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) training and certification that is sponsored or endorsed by the American Heart Association (AHA). Current Advanced Life Support or other advanced certification does not supersede BLS completion. Applicants must be able to fulfill credentialing requirements and obtain and maintain appropriate/relevant clinical privileges. A one-year supervisory probationary period may be required. Evidence of equivalency to accredited schools in the United States is demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country, or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination. Applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States. After obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, a candidate must have had at least one year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting, i.e., a one-year internship or the first year of a residency program in a hospital or an institution accredited for such training. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position, you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below: Applicants must possess 3 years of graduate training in the specialty of the position to be filled or equivalent experience and training.
