JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract, better known as J-Tech II. JT4 develops and maintains realistic, integrated test and training environments and prepares our nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges. JOB SUMMARY - ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES The Project Lead is responsible to manage complex projects focused on avionics systems and sub-system for both manned and unmanned aircraft. JT4 seeks an experienced and highly motivated candidate that will apply comprehensive knowledge of project management and systems engineering to lead small to medium-sized projects, ensuring they meet rigorous customer requirements, budget, and schedule constraints. This role is critical to advancing the capabilities of our nation's military aviation platforms. The ideal candidate will: Perform equally well independently or as part of a multi-disciplined team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Be responsible for mission avionics systems integration and performance. Lead cross-functional teams in the design, development, integration, and testing of avionics systems, including RADAR, Electronic Warfare (EW), and tactical communication/datalink systems. Oversee projects, from initial concept and requirements definition through to deployment. Make priority determinations, manage resources effectively, and perform resource leveling to ensure project milestones are met. Develop, review, and approve all project documentation, including system specifications, test plans, and technical data packages. Manage and control project scope, ensuring all technical requirements for manned and unmanned avionics systems are fulfilled. Establish, execute, and report on project budgets, with a strong understanding of Earned Value Management (EVM) techniques. Provide regular project status updates to program managers and customer stakeholders through detailed reviews and reports. Serve as the primary interface with government customers, including the Air Force, Space Force, and Navy, ensuring their requirements are met and fostering strong relationships. May be required to recruit, hire, and mentor technical personnel to build a high-performing project team. Facilitate technical interchange meetings, working groups, and design reviews. First-look opportunities may be extended to qualified candidates with an active Top Secret security clearance. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS A Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Aerospace, Computer), or a related technical field. Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in project or systems engineering related to military aircraft avionics. Active Top Secret clearance highly desirable. REQUIREMENTS - EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE Must have a bachelor's or higher degree, or any combination of formal education, training and experience equivalent to 10 years involvement in technically demanding program or project assignments. In addition, a Project Lead III must possess the following qualifications: Demonstrated experience in resource organization, planning, budgeting, and configuration management. Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to a variety of audiences. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities. Must be a U.S. citizen Must qualify for and maintain a government security clearance Must possess a valid, state-issued driver's license. SALARY The expected salary range for this position is $105,000 to $160,000 annually. Note: The salary range offered for this position is a good faith description of the expected salary range this role will pay. WORKING CONDITIONS This position involves work typical of an aircraft maintenance environment. While most work will be performed using computers in an office setting, occasional hands-on tasks will require the ability to travel between work areas. There is occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting and use of a computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while writing, reviewing, and editing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, and constant mental alertness. The incumbent must possess planning/organizing skills, be able to work under deadlines, and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Routine travel to remote Company work locations will be required. Travel during the performance of work-related tasks may also be required.
