Job Description Job Description PURPOSE: Perform skilled industrial electrical work involving the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and modification of electrical systems, controls, wiring, and production equipment. Support construction and maintenance projects while ensuring compliance with company safety and GMP standards. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: • Minimum 5–7 years of industrial electrical experience preferred. • Completion of electrical coursework, apprenticeship, or equivalent technical training preferred. • Must possess advanced troubleshooting and repair skills for industrial electrical systems. • Ability to install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, motors, control panels, transformers, frequency drives, lighting systems, and protection devices. • Must be able to troubleshoot single-phase and three-phase electrical systems. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, schematics, and verbal instructions. • Must understand conduit layout, wire sizing, load calculations, and motor control systems. • Ability to safely operate and use electrical testing equipment and hand/power tools. • Must have knowledge of NFPA 70E electrical safety standards, Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures, and company safety policies. • Must understand and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs). • Must be able to estimate time and materials needed for projects and repairs. • Must have general computer knowledge and be able to document maintenance findings and repairs. • Must maintain good attendance and safety record. • Must be available for overtime, emergency call-outs. • Must be able to read and understand written information in English. • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean DMV record. • Must pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening, physical, and functional capacity evaluation. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Install, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial electrical systems and equipment. • Diagnose electrical and mechanical failures and perform corrective repairs. • Replace defective wiring, electrical components, motors, controls, and lighting systems. • Install and troubleshoot motor control centers, load centers, transformers, VFDs, and protection devices. • Perform preventative maintenance inspections and document findings. • Read and work from blueprints, electrical schematics, diagrams, and verbal instructions. • Calculate horsepower, amperage, conduit runs, wire sizing, and electrical loads. • Support production operations and respond to equipment breakdowns in a timely manner. • Assist with construction and maintenance projects throughout the facility. • Safely operate aerial lifts and other maintenance equipment. • Maintain work areas, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly condition. • Train and assist lower-level electricians and maintenance personnel when needed. • Communicate effectively with supervisors, management, and production staff. • Follow all company safety rules, GMP requirements, and electrical safety procedures. • Perform other duties as assigned by management. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Ability to operate hand and power tools. • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions. • Ability to work on equipment elevated above ground level or low to the ground. • Ability to move throughout food processing facilities, including wet areas, narrow passages, and elevated platforms. • Ability to work in temperatures ranging from -20°ree;F to 110°ree;F. • Ability to work in high-noise environments. • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds. • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel, and reach for extended periods of time.
