This individual provides quality care to patients within the practice. This individual coordinates with the VP of mental health and other Article 31 professionals in order to uphold the standards of psychiatric interventions in accordance the Agency's clinical standards of practices and in conjunction with federal, state and local regulations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provides direct patient psychiatric care according to professional guidelines and best practices. Maintains collaborative agreements with the psychiatric nurse practitioners. Participates in the development of clinical systems that assures the provision of care for all clients in accordance with federal, state and local regulations. Participates in developing plans of care for clients in collaboration with the multidisciplinary treatment team. Maintains liaison with other departments/disciplines relating to the provision of psychiatric care. Consults with Administration, Nursing, Social Work and Substance Abuse Services to evaluate the facilitys ability to meet the pyscho-social needs of the client. Provides for appropriate psychiatric educational programs for mental health and medical staff and participates in in-service training within organizations. Provides patient advocacy. Participates in continuing education programs appropriate to the practice. Maintains confidential case records, medical charts and files pertaining to the resident/client.
