The Role Stratus has recently partnered with PVEDI and is seeking a Civil Engineer in Training (EIT) to support civil land development and site design projects. The EIT builds upon foundational engineering skills by taking on more independent design responsibilities while continuing to support senior engineers. This role involves preparing detailed site plans and technical drawings, performing engineering calculations, and design supporting commercial, municipal, and private development projects. The position also includes coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, assisting with permitting and regulatory compliance, and helping to develop practical, constructible site solutions that align with project requirements and industry standards. Responsibilities Develop detailed engineering designs, prepare technical drawings and models that align with project specifications and regulatory requirements. Conduct engineering calculations and analyses to ensure that designs are feasible, safe, and compliant with applicable codes and standards. Use design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, Hydro Flow/Hydro CAD, Microsoft Work, Excel) to create and modify engineering documents, including 3D models, schematics, and technical drawings. Collaborate with other engineers and consultants to integrate systems and equipment into comprehensive engineering solutions. Research materials, technologies, and regulatory requirements to support the design process and ensure compliance with industry standards. Participate in client and team meetings, presenting design updates and providing technical input on engineering solutions. Conduct site visits or inspections to gather data, evaluate project conditions, or assist with construction administration as needed. Assist in quality control by reviewing engineering deliverables for accuracy and adherence to project goals and company standards. Other duties as assigned by the Engineer Manager Minimum Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited institution, or equivalent. Fundamentals of Engineering (EIT) registration or ability to obtain within one year. 0-2 years' experience; consulting experience is a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present to clients and prepare technical reports. Demonstrated commitment to sustainability, quality, and continuous improvement in engineering practices. Physically able to perform fieldwork and travel as required; valid driver's license. Proficient in MicroStation or AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Civil 3D, GIS, hydraulic/hydrologic modeling, or other engineering software is beneficial.
