Job Description Job Description MAJOR TASKS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set forth in Summerfield Manor employee handbook, the policy and procedure manual, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards. Must be able to work cooperatively as a member of a team. Keeps confidential all resident information received. Provides and/or assists residents with activities of daily living such as grooming, oral hygiene, bath/shower assistance, hair, feeding, and nourishment and incontinence care. Provides medication administration in accordance with state and federal regulations. Maintains clean and safe environment by insuring each resident area is well organized without safety hazards. Performs and/or assists residents with passive range of motion exercises by encouraging ambulation at every applicable opportunity, assisting as needed with transfers to/from bed, floor, wheelchair and shower chairs as needed. Positions residents in bed and/or chair as needed. Assists as needed to transport residents to other facility functions such as meals and activities. Responds to call lights, resident and visitor requests and corrects environmental hazards in an appropriate and safe manner. Provides timely, accurate documentation as required. Documents/reports care provided and resident observations including unusual or significant changes in physical, mental or behavioral conditions. Obtains/performs vital signs, heights, weights, and/or other required basic information as directed by Wellness Coordinator. Responds to emergency needs such as abdominal thrust, and other disaster procedures designated by facility policies. Demonstrates competency in required areas, such as medication assistance. Attends in-service training and is responsible to maintain required number of in-service hours and current state certification. Adheres to standard precautions in daily work. Follows and carries out directions of licensed nurses and other managerial staff. Performs treatments as directed by scope of practice. Observes facility policies and procedures regarding attendance, timeliness, house rules, teamwork, customer service and other policies/procedures that may be introduced from time to time. Participates in the Quality Assurance Program as required. Performs other duties as assigned. Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with a 24-hour call two times per week. Position Summary We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated Nurse Midwife to join our growing private obstetrics and gynecology practice. The CNM will provide full-scope midwifery care including prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and gynecological services, working collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive and high-quality care for women across the lifespan. Key Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive prenatal visits and provide education and counseling to expectant mothers and families. Provide labor and delivery care, including attendance at vaginal births and support for natural and low-intervention birth experiences. Manage postpartum care, including lactation support and follow-up assessments. Perform routine gynecologic exams, family planning counseling, contraceptive management, and menopause care. Order and interpret diagnostic tests, lab work, and ultrasounds within scope of practice. Maintain thorough documentation in electronic medical records (EMR). Participate in rotating call coverage, including nights and weekends. Provide patient-centered care in alignment with practice philosophy and standards. Collaborate with OB-GYN physicians, nurses, and office staff for seamless patient care. Qualifications Master's Degree in Nurse-Midwifery from an accredited program required. Current and unrestricted RN license required. National certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board required. Current BLS and NRP certification (or ability to obtain). Recent delivery experience desired. Minimum of 1-2 years of midwifery experience preferred; open to candidates who have 6-8 months of experience as well. Strong clinical judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills. Comfortable working independently in a private practice setting.
