About the Position The Director of Construction will lead all construction operations and serve as a key member of the senior leadership team. This role is being hired in advance of the current Director’s upcoming retirement, ensuring a smooth transition and strong continuity of leadership. The ideal candidate will oversee multiple concurrent renovation projects—typically ranging from $100K to $200K , with occasional projects exceeding $1M —while managing and mentoring project managers and field teams. This leader will maintain and enhance the company’s well-established operational standards, drive efficiency, support quality control, and reinforce a culture of professionalism and client service. Key Responsibilities: Lead and manage company-wide construction operations and project delivery. Oversee multiple projects and project managers simultaneously. Maintain and elevate construction standards, processes, and best practices. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to company quality expectations. Provide mentorship and performance management to project management staff. Collaborate with design, estimating, and executive leadership to support company goals. Participate in long-term operational planning and continuous improvement initiatives. Requirements Proven leadership experience within residential or commercial remodeling or general construction. Strong background overseeing multi-project operations in a high-detail environment. Ability to manage, mentor, and develop project managers and field personnel. Experience with projects ranging from $100K–$200K , with exposure to projects over $1M preferred. Excellent communication, organizational, and client-facing skills. Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, subcontractor coordination, and quality control. New York City construction experience strongly preferred.
