Job Description Job Description Title: Heavy Equipment Mechanic Reporting Manager: Shop Manager Location: New Stanton, PA FLSA Status: Non-Exempt POSITION OVERVIEW: The Mechanic is responsible for the health and maintenance of all the Company equipment that is in service, to include pickups and all company heavy equipment (i.e., milling machines, reclaimers, skid steers, forklifts vehicles, etc.). The mechanic is responsible for maintaining production, quality and safety standards by ensuring the operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES: Above all, ensure that safe practices are followed in all aspects of daily activities. Read schematics, diagrams, blueprints, etc. to assist with repairs and/or diagnostics. Diagnose complex electric, hydraulic, and mechanical issues. Remove, replace, and repair major components of milling machines, skid-steer loaders, street sweepers, heavy and light trucks, etc. Perform routine maintenance services on heavy equipment. Perform repairs on-site in the field as needed. Actively communicate with the Shop Manager, other mechanics, operators, etc. to ensure repair and maintenance services are provided in a timely manner. Ensure part needs are communicated to Shop Manager to ensure proper inventory levels. Maintain ability to work overtime, nights and weekends particularly during the high season summer months. Prior Mechanic experience Experience and excellent knowledge of the repair and maintenance of heavy duty construction equipment; a minimum of 3 years of experience preferred.
