Responsibilities: Responsible for performing engineering inspection, design, coordination, and review of projects in a specific engineering discipline for an assigned functional area. Work will also include performing field inspections of highway bridges, documenting defects, preparing reports, and completing computations to calculate the load ratings of various bridge types. Responsibilities may include preparing designs and contract documents for the repair or replacement of various types of bridge structures and providing support during construction such as reviewing shop drawings. The position requires the application of professional engineering concepts, principles, practices, and methods sufficient to perform a broad range of engineering inspection and design activities in a variety of work environments.
