Pay Starting at $17.00/Hour (Rehire 2025 Lifeguards start at $17.50/Hour) Scheduling: The Aquatics team at Six Flags New England only has one shift given the operating hours of the waterpark. Lifeguards will need to be able to work 10:30/11-6:30pm on a typical operating days. Lifeguards also must attend weekly "in service" trainings for their certification with the park, which are held prior to the waterpark operating day. Responsibilities: * Maintaining constant vigilance and supervision of guests in Hurricane Harbor water park * Recognizing and managing aquatic emergencies by utilizing skills taught by Ellis & Associates ILTP * Assisting guests with questions concerning rides, directions, and policies * Remaining at a "Test Ready" skill level at all times * Adhering to all policies, practices, and procedures outlined in the Ellis & Associates ILTP program * Adhering to bio-hazardous waste disposal procedures, and perform all related duties in compliance with fecal matter exposure policy * Attending weekly-scheduled in-service training sessions * Assisting in other areas of the Aquatics Department * Enforcing all Six Flags New England policies * Performing all other incidental and related duties as required and assigned Qualifications: * At least 16 years old * Must successfully complete the Ellis & Associates Special Facilities lifeguard course and once completed, may work in any lifeguard capacity within Hurricane Harbor * Must be able to swim 200 yards in 15 minutes, retrieve a 10-pound brick from the bottom of a pool, tread water for two minutes, and lift yourself out of the pool * Willing to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays * Able to communicate effectively in the English language, including the ability to read, speak, and understand the English language * Able to meet the physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations, including walking long distances, standing for long periods of time, lifting, working at heights, etc.
