How you'll make an impact in this role Ascension Seton is looking for an NP or PA, FT, Women's Services/OB Triage to join our elite team! As an NP/PA in OB/Gyn ED with Ascension. You will see and evaluate patients in the OB Triage setting for things to include: labor, preterm labor, rupture of membranes or any complications of pregnancy. You will see patients 16 weeks to 6 weeks postpartum. You will be in charge of triaging patients based on acuity and greatest need and will be supported by the on-call physician for the patients' private practice or the team of OB residents. You will also be a part of teaching the Dell Seton interns how to adequately triage a patient, quickly and efficiently as one of their first year resident education goals. The goal of this service is to be able to identify in a timely manner if a patient needs hospital admission or discharge to home without occupying Labor and Antepartum rooms on the floor. Position Highlights: Separate OB/GYN Emergency Department Ultrasound training with Maternal Fetal Medicine Occasional postpartum rounding Responsibilities: Obtains patient history and performs assessment via observation, interview and examination. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies. Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and patient care. Provides direct treatment and management of health conditions via referral to other healthcare providers or community resources. Counsels and educates patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources. What minimum qualifications you'll need Licensure / Certification / Registration: Nurse Practitioner credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Drug Enforcement Admin credentialed from the Drug Enforcement Administration preferred. Education: Master's degree of Nursing required.
