Located on the main hospital campus in Alamogordo, the CHRISTUS Cancer Center provides comprehensive outpatient hematology and oncology services in a patient'centered environment. The clinic includes 10 treatment beds, two private chemotherapy rooms, and access to advanced technology such as a new linear accelerator, 64'slice CT, and 1.5T MRI. Patients benefit from a multidisciplinary team that includes oncology'certified nurses, a clinical nurse specialist, a nurse navigator, and strong surgical and specialty support across breast surgery, pathology, orthopedics, cardiology, pulmonology, and colorectal surgery. The practice is 70% oncology and 30% hematology, with all chemotherapy delivered outpatient. Physicians typically see 14-16 patients per day, including three new consults, and perform procedures such as bone marrow biopsies. Call is shared between the medical oncologist and CNS, with after'hours triage handled through an answering service.
