This crucial role is responsible for ensuring the safety and readiness of parachutes and airborne operation equipment for soldiers, airmen, and special operations forces who rely on high-performance gear for mission success. As a Parachute Rigger, you will play a vital part in the preparation and maintenance of personal and cargo parachutes, as well as other airdrop equipment. Inspect, maintain, and repair parachutes, harnesses, and other safety and emergency equipment. Properly fold and pack soft and square parachutes for various operations. Conduct routine testing and quality control of parachutes and airborne equipment to ensure functionality and safety. Collaborate closely with other military personnel to ensure equipment is prepared for airborne operations and training exercises. Teach and demonstrate parachute packing and maintenance techniques to new soldiers and unit members. Maintain accurate records regarding equipment maintenance and packing details. Keen attention to detail to ensure the safety and reliability of aerial equipment. Strong problem-solving skills to detect and repair any malfunctions in parachute gear. Physical dexterity and fitness to handle heavy equipment and perform tasks requiring fine motor skills. Ability to adhere to strict safety and quality standards.
