The Colmery-O'Neil VA Medical Center in Topeka, Kansas (1 hour from Kansas City, MO) has an immediate opening for an Emergency Room physician to provide Emergency/urgent care to veterans. Typically trauma patients are not seen in the ER except falls and fractures. Additional Details: Required certifications: Board eligibility/Board certification in internal medicine, family medicine or emergency medicine Routine procedures: Intubation, Vascular access (Arterial line/Central line), LP, Thoracentesis/paracentesis, Chest tube, splints Hours: 8:00am 8:00 pm or 8:00 pm to 8:00 am on weekend/holidays. Some weekday shift of 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (ER physicians are scheduled for approximately 80-hours of work during each two-week period) Avg. in-patient census: 35-40 (8 ICU beds) Yearly ER volume: Student Loan Repayment: You may be eligible to apply for the Education Debt Reduction Program.
