Job Description Job Description Job Summary: Responsible for performing complex maintenance and repair of electrical and mechanical equipment in a food manufacturing plant. Compensation: - Compensation up to $35.00/hour, based on skills, experience, qualifications and testing - Premium healthcare benefits, including medical, dental and vision coverage - Retirement savings account - Company paid life insurance, vacation, holidays and sick days - Full-time, 40-hour work week plus overtime opportunities Responsibilities: - Troubleshoots electrical controls and power components and circuits wired in automated equipment within the food manufacturing plant. - Operates, troubleshoots, repairs, modifies and installs programmable logic controllers and associated networks. - Performs complex diagnostic testing on all equipment within the food manufacturing plant. - Dismantles, adjusts, repairs and assembles equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches or drawings. - Fabricates parts and welds as required. - Interfaces with production supervisors and workers to solicit information about problems, and performance issues. - Maintains a clean and well organized work area that promotes safety and efficiency. - Ensures compliance with applicable quality system standards and the unit’s food safety and security programs in support of essential manufacturing strategies and practices. - Serves as alternate to Maintenance Mechanics to ensure effective coverage of the Safe Quality Food responsibilities pertaining to that position. Qualifications: - Associate’s degree in electrical and/or mechanical field or equivalent trade knowledge in a formal registered training program preferred and 4 years maintenance experience in similar environment. Knowledge and experience may be substituted for degree. - Must pass Ramsey PLC Basics Test. - Demonstrated ability to work with computer work station used to program and debug process control systems. - Proven proficiency working with basic tool room equipment, hydraulic systems, programmable logic controllers and ladder logic. - Experience with electrical/controls circuits and troubleshooting. - Ability to read and interpret blueprints, maintenance manuals and sketches, perform basic math and handbook formulas, and use a variety of measuring instruments. - Ability to work independently; normally receives no instruction on routine work, general instruction on new assignments. - Advanced electrical, mechanical and welding skills a must. - Works on assignments that are complex in nature where judgment is required in performing maintenance and repair. - Strong verbal and interpersonal skills. - Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area that promotes safety and efficiency. - Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends. Inspect parts for surface defects and ensure they meet specifications. Electropolishing: Operate electropolishing equipment to improve surface finish and corrosion resistance. Monitor bath conditions to maintain consistent quality. Cleaning & Deburring: Clean parts using ultrasonic cleaners or acid baths to remove oils and contaminants. Deburr parts to remove sharp edges. Quality Control: Inspect parts using precision tools (micrometers, profilometers) to verify they meet customer specifications. Record processes and results for traceability. Equipment & Safety: Maintain polishing, cleaning, and electropolishing equipment. Follow safety procedures and keep the work area clean and organized. Qualifications Experience: Mechanical polishing or electropolishing experience preferred (manufacturing or metal finishing). Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a physically demanding environment. Must be comfortable safely handling chemicals and abrasive materials. Job Summary: Perform manual and semi-automatic welding on all types of materials, components, and products. Main Duties/Responsibilities: · Setup, adjust, and operate all types of manual and semi-automatic welding equipment (i.e. SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, Bortech) in accordance with the proper Welding Procedure Specification (WPS) in an efficient manner. · Provide technical support for Sales during the inquiry process. · Ensure welding is being done such that welds are capable of passing RT and UT requirements. · Verify welding and material is in accordance with drawings, standards, and specifications. · Perform pre-heat and post-heat operations. · Perform all types of gouging operations. · Maintain accurate welding and material records. · Clean up welds by grinding, buffing, and/or other means to provide an acceptable surface condition. · Assist and train other welders, as required. · Report abnormal conditions of equipment to Foreman. · Work in a safe and secure manner and comply with the safety rules and procedures. · Weld fixtures, temporary lugs, dies, and other non-production items in accordance with the proper WPS. · Perform small repairs and preventative maintenance on the welding equipment. · Assist in placing and removing pieces, components, and products to/from the welding area. · Operate jib cranes, forklifts, and other mobile equipment (except heavy cranes) for the moving of material, components, and equipment from location to location within the plant. Occasionally operate overhead cranes and towmotors in support of small moves to continue production within the department. · Perform general laborer duties as required (i.e. grinding, loading and unloading of trucks and railcars, bricking furnace). · Keep working area clean and perform housekeeping duties around the plant as required (i.e. pickup tools, roll-up hoses and cables, sweep). Qualifications: Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge is qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to: Education/ Experience · Required to pass ASME Code welding test qualification requirements in GMAW, FCAW, and SMAW as set forth by the Company. · Capable of reading and understanding Engineering drawings, documents, weld symbols, and WPS’s. · Working knowledge of different types of cutting equipment. · Capable of lifting 50 lbs. up to waist. · Requires 36 months minimum of job-related work experience.
