Treasury Director The Treasury Director will be responsible for leading the Cash & Liquidity Management, Treasury Operations and Treasury Management System functions within the treasury organization. This position reports to the Group Treasurer. Treasury oversees daily cash operations and payments, and implements risk management strategies to mitigate exposure to interest rates, foreign exchange, and commodity prices. Additionally, the function handles investment management, financial reporting, and compliance with regulations, while supporting strategic initiatives such as mergers, acquisitions, and long-term financial planning. Primary Responsibilities Provide clear direction, mentorship, and support to the leaders of each sub-team, fostering their professional growth and ensuring alignment with overall treasury objectives. Design and execute comprehensive treasury processes, procedures, and tools, ensuring alignment with established standards and robust internal controls to safeguard financial integrity and operational efficiency. Cash & Liquidity Management Monitor and forecast the company’s cash flows to ensure there is sufficient liquidity to meet operational needs and financial obligations. Manage the company’s working capital to ensure excess cash is efficiently deployed while maintaining necessary liquidity buffers to facilitate day-to-day operations. Manage the investment of surplus cash in compliance with policies set by the board. Treasury Operations Oversee the company’s cash position on a daily basis, ensuring efficient management of bank accounts and cash pooling. Ensure timely and accurate execution of payments to vendors, suppliers, and employees. Ensure robust internal controls around treasury activities to prevent fraud, ensure accuracy, and maintain compliance with corporate policies and external regulations. Treasury Management Systems Identify and evaluate automation opportunities within treasury by analyzing workflows and collaborating with treasury teams to propose effective automation solutions that enhance efficiency and transparency across finance activities. Implement and maintain treasury automation tools, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems while continuously monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, and updating tools to adapt to evolving business needs. Develop and deliver comprehensive training programs for treasury staff on the use of new automation technologies, fostering adoption through clear documentation and hands-on mentorship. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong people management and leadership skills. Direct experience working in a global treasury team that supports many international entities. Experience in structured / project finance. We are looking for talented, ambitious Backend Senior and Staff Engineers who are excited to build in the Applied AI space. What You’ll Do & Achieve Design and implement key backend, integration platform subsystems Understand business goals, product and technology strategies and customer requirements and implement supporting backend and integration platform subsystems to achieve them Adapt and evolve systems and plans to implement newly identified design partner and customer requirements Adapt and evolve systems to implement non‑functional requirements (compliance, security, enterprise integration etc.) Laying down infrastructure foundations for growth and scalability Prepare Cogent for future headcount, customer, and data growth by working with a team to design and build an infrastructure that will scale and that achieves requirements in the areas of product capabilities, non‑functional needs (reliability, security, disaster recovery etc.). Help create a robust engineering culture at Cogent Onboard, support and uplevel future team members Participate in, provide feedback on, and iterate interview process as we scale the team up Actively contribute to Engineering Excellence, Operational Excellence and Recruiting initiatives What You’ll Bring 5 years of professional experience as a hands‑on engineer and technical leader, overseeing and contributing to multiple backend systems and infrastructure projects Expertise in architecting, developing, and scaling backend systems, including both stateless and stateful architectures, to support high‑performance, enterprise‑level applications Proven experience with distributed systems, microservices, and serverless architectures, ensuring robustness, scalability, and fault tolerance Strong knowledge of backend programming languages such as Python, Go or similar, with a deep understanding of concurrency, memory management, and performance optimization Experience with API design and implementation (RESTful and/or gRPC), integrating with frontend systems, data platforms, and third‑party services Solid experience with containerization, orchestration, and deployment technologies like Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and CI/CD pipelines in multi‑cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) Compensation (California Based Applicants) The standard base salary range for this position is $100,000 – $300,000 annually. Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, job level, job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience.
