What you will do: Help maintain a strong internal control environment and compliance with US GAAP, other regulatory requirements, and internal accounting policies and procedures. Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for month-end and year-end close. Prepare weekly billings to various funding sources as assigned. Assist with preparation of tax and compliance filings, including information needed for Form 990 and other reporting requirements. Prepare monthly accounts payable/receivable, credit card transactions, and required subsidiary account reports. Prepare weekly billings to various funding sources as assigned. Reconcile cash accounts and prepare weekly transfer requests. Assist with annual audit preparation. Assist with the preparation of grant budgets and reports. Assist with the preparation of monthly financial information. Prepare detailed schedules as required. We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer at our site in Knoxville, TN. The Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for the electrical design and safety circuit design of robotic and automated equipment, including electrical schematics, control panel/enclosure layouts, and documentation using AutoCAD Electrical. The role requires performing electrical calculations to properly size and protect systems, including system FLA, fuses/breakers, conductors, transformers, and enclosure heat loads. The engineer will support existing design modifications, electrical troubleshooting, panel fabrication and assembly, automation concept development, R&D, equipment startup, and field support as needed. The position requires knowledge of applicable UL, NEC, and machine-safety standards and the ability to develop safe, reliable, and manufacturable electrical systems. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Design electrical and safety circuits for automated machines and equipment to UL standards. Create electrical schematics and panel layouts using AutoCAD electrical. Prepare an electrical Bill of Material for all necessary purchased components. Perform calculations necessary to size fuses/breakers and conductors, size transformers, determine system FLA, determine heat load in an enclosure, and other as required. Review and understand applicable design codes and customer specifications. Attend and participate in engineering design reviews with a multi-disciplinary team that may include mechanical engineers, electrical engineers, controls engineers, sales, assembly, and service personnel. Provide on-going technical support for in-house technicians in the machine-building group. Review with design team to ensure quality and internal design practices are being met. Communicate regular timely updates on projects in a clear and concise manner. Travel as required for the role; Assist in robot system installations and support at customer facilities. EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering discipline from an ABET Accredited University with 3 years of experience in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience in electrical design for automation equipment. Training and/or experience with the AutoCAD Electrical design suite. Functional knowledge of system controls including PLCs, VFDs, servo drives, and safety controllers. Ability to independently manage a workload consisting of long-term projects and unplanned day-to-day priorities with proven project completion history with successful results.
