Project Supervisor

SUMMARY The Working Project Superintendent is a hands-on field leader responsible for supervising daily jobsite operations while also performing skilled work as needed. This position coordinates company crews, subcontractors, suppliers, inspections, safety requirements, schedules, quality control, and field documentation to ensure each project is completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with plans, specifications, applicable codes, OSHA requirements, and company standards. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES 1. Serve as the company’s on-site field leader and working supervisor for assigned projects. 2. Perform skilled field work when needed while directing crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and other jobsite personnel. 3. Read, understand, and communicate project plans, specifications, shop drawings, erection drawings, submittals, schedules, and scope requirements. 4. Plan, coordinate, and supervise daily field operations, including manpower, equipment, material deliveries, site logistics, work sequencing, and jobsite access. 5. Maintain project schedule progress, identify delays or conflicts early, and communicate corrective-action recommendations to the Construction Manager or Project Manager. 6. Promote, enforce, and document jobsite safety practices, including OSHA compliance, company safety policies, fall protection, PPE, equipment safety, hazard correction, toolbox talks, and incident reporting. 7. Maintain quality control by inspecting work in progress, confirming compliance with contract documents, and correcting deficiencies before work is covered or completed. 8. Coordinate inspections, testing, punch-list items, closeout activities, and owner or design-team field reviews as required. 9. Maintain accurate daily reports, jobsite photos, time records, material tickets, safety records, delivery logs, and other required field documentation. 10. Communicate professionally with owners, architects, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, suppliers, supervisors, and employees. 11. Identify field conflicts, design questions, missing information, and potential change conditions; promptly notify management and assist with RFIs, solutions, and documentation. 12. Protect company interests by avoiding unauthorized commitments, directing questions about contract changes to management, and maintaining complete records of jobsite conditions. 13. Maintain an organized, secure, and clean jobsite; ensure good housekeeping practices are observed and maintained. 14. Demonstrate working knowledge of carpentry, structural steel, pre-engineered metal building systems, foundations, building layout, and general commercial construction practices. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES Complete duties as directed by the Construction Manager, Project Manager, President, or other authorized company representative. Assist with estimating input, constructability review, sequencing, material takeoffs, and field planning when requested. Mentor, train, and support field employees in safe work practices, production standards, quality expectations, and company procedures. Support project closeout, warranty work, owner turnover, and follow-up work as assigned. General Foreman - PEMB (Traveling)

This is a TRAVEL opportunity that requires travel to work sites throughout the U.S. The General Foreman is a front-line supervisory-level position. The General Foreman assists the Superintendent in supervising and leading a group of Employee- Owners (i.e., construction crews and the individual Employee-Owners on a jobsite) and Subcontract labor in the construction of projects. Foremen ensure that their construction crews and workers do their jobs safely, skillfully, efficiently, and on schedule. This position requires strong leadership and mentoring abilities and a strong desire to learn. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Safety Training Responsibilities: • Prioritizes safety as the utmost importance, even before production, and promotes a jobsite culture that makes safety the primary focus for all. • Assists the Superintendent or, at times, conducts frequent safety meetings, including but not limited to daily morning huddles and weekly “Toolbox Safety Talks.” • Completes all required and/or necessary safety-related reports and inspections, including but not limited to daily safety reports, daily Jobsite Safety Analyses (JSAs), daily equipment inspections, and other periodic inspections of equipment, machinery, materials, and tools. • Communicates and enforces safety procedures and site rules. • Assists the Superintendent in coaching, translating, and administering disciplinary actions with Employee-Owners for safety infractions, adhering to company progressive disciplinary action procedures. • Provides support to the Superintendent in investigating and documenting safety infractions. • Responsible for directing crew to complete work in accordance with OSHA and Company safety policies and regulations, as well as any site-specific requirements. Supervisory Responsibilities: • Effectively motivates, directs, trains, and coaches Employee-Owners to substantively add value to our company labor pool. • Assists the Superintendent in successful and meaningful onboarding and training of field Employee-Owners, including but not limited to indoctrination from day one into the Company’s culture, particularly with respect to its safety culture. • Responsible for the day-to-day management of field Employee-Owners assigned, including but not limited to administering Company policies. • Supervises, trains, and leads crews and individual Employee-Owners throughout the duration of the project while constantly demonstrating proper procedures and promoting safety, accuracy, and efficiency. • Assists the Superintendent in coaching and administering disciplinary actions with Employee-Owners for policy infractions, adhering to company progressive disciplinary action procedures. • Is responsible for providing coaching and mentoring to Employee-Owners. • Responsible for directing crew to complete specific scope in adherence to project schedules/deadlines. Pre-Construction Responsibilities: • Is responsible for learning how to access site-specific and other relevant documents. • Attends and actively participates in pre-construction hand-off meeting. • Assists the Superintendent in modifying the delivery schedule of projects as needed. • Assists the Superintendent in securing all equipment, safety material, and tools needed for the project. • Reviews with the Superintendent all relevant documents, such plans & specs, shop drawings, and cut sheets prior to construction activities. • Responsible for pre-construction activities on the jobsite, such as receiving materials and equipment and setting up all work areas, including the jobsite office. Construction Phase Responsibilities: • Deciphers plans and directs proper layout and placement of building components. • Plans, coordinates, assigns, and directs the day-to-day work and activities of construction crews and workers. • Is responsible for organizing, maintaining, issuing, and managing tools and equipment on site, and effectively and timely communicating inventory needs to the Superintendent. • Regularly inspects work for quality and adherence to SPAN standard details, drawings, plans, and other relevant specifications and directives. • Is responsible for reviewing construction schedules and ensuring timely completion of site-specific tasks and objectives. • Anticipates problems and/or conflicts that may arise during phases of construction and proactively adjusts accordingly. • In the absence and in support of the Superintendent, completes and submits professional, accurate, concise, and consistent daily reports to effectively document the events of each day and create a comprehensive record of events. • Regularly reviews updated and revised plans and documents to ensure all new details are incorporated into the work plan. • In the absence and in support of the Superintendent, communicates and cooperates with inspectors coming to the jobsite, demonstrating knowledge of the project, relevant drawings, and the required inspections, and addresses any deficiencies found as a result of an inspection in a timely manner. • Ensures specifications and regulations outlined in architectural and engineering plans are followed and that the Company’s quality standards are met, including ensuring the quality of building components. Closeout Responsibilities: • Addresses, ensures, and documents the proper and timely completion of all open action items listed on inspection reports from the Quality Assurance department and any associated punch lists. • Conducts inspection, reconciliation, and inventory of tools, materials, and safety gear in preparation for the next project. Other Responsibilities/Duties: • Endeavors to stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in the construction field. • Projects a positive image of the organization to Employee-Owners, clients, industry, and community. • Maintains a “value added” approach to all aspects and phases of construction projects. • Participates fully as a team member in building an atmosphere of openness, honesty, respect, cooperation, and accountability. The Safety Manager is one of the most important roles in our organization. This position assists in the development, coordination, and execution of Company-wide and project-specific safety programs and works to ensure the safety of employees, subcontractors, vendors, and the public. The Safety Manager enforces the Company’s safety standards as well as local and federal safety laws and regulations. The incumbent conducts training for employees to develop safe work plans for all project phases and tasks.
