Estimate Preparation: Compile comprehensive, accurate, and detailed take-offs to create competitive cost estimates for glazing systems on commercial construction projects, including but not limited to curtain wall, storefront, and unitized glazing facades. Bid Analysis: Analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring pricing is competitive and aligned with project needs. Negotiate contracts and cost pricing when necessary through collaboration/approval with management. Proposal Preparation: Create cost proposals for each bid in a clear and concise manner including project specific scope, details, qualifications, notes, and exclusions. Cost Control: Monitor and control project costs through the estimating process, ensuring that projects are awarded/contracted within budget. Recommend solutions for cost-saving measures without compromising quality through VE exercises. Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and operations to ensure proper estimation methods and compliance with project design/specification requirements. Coordinate with internal team through standardized project handoff processes to clarify scope and technical aspects of each awarded project. Risk Management: Identify potential risks and propose mitigating solutions, especially regarding materials, labor, timelines, and contract requirements. Technical Leadership: Mentor and guide junior estimators, providing training and support to ensure high-quality estimates and adherence to best practices. Project Support: Provide ongoing support throughout the project lifecycle, including adjustments to estimates during the pre-construction phase and execution if required.
