Job Description Join our Team at the Department of Veterans Medical Center, San Francisco, CA as a Physician - Primary Care! The Physician serves as a Primary Care Provider (PCP) at any Community Based Outpatient Clinic. The CBOC operates under a Patient Aligned Care Team Model. Together with his or her team, comprised of a PCP, RN, LVN, and a Clerk, the PCP cares for a panel of approximately patients. The PCP provides primary care services in a team-based setting, including chronic disease management and preventive health. Common diagnoses encountered include diabetes, hypertension, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, degenerative arthritis, depression, congestive heart failure, and chronic pain. Responsibilities: Evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation for non-surgical adult patients of all ages, without life-threatening complications and with a wide variety of diseases, injuries, and disorders. Assess, stabilize, and determine disposition of patients with emergent conditions consistent with medical staff policy regarding emergency and consultative call services. Collaborate with/oversee mid-level providers such as other nurse practitioners and works collaboratively with other specialties (and subspecialties) in and outside of the VA system to manage or co-manage patients' health. Additional duties as assigned. Benefits and Features Expected Salary range from $285K to $315K (negotiable based on candidate's qualifications, credentials and experience). Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment): Authorized. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8am - 4:30pm, excluding Federal Government holidays Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases. Paid Time Off: 50-55 days of paid time-off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME). This is an established program between TeamHealth and HCA. Our physicians work a traditional 7-on, 7-off schedule with shifts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. 10 p.m. to 10 a.m. 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. St. David's Medical Center is an acute care facility that has 426 beds and a 64-bed rehab. During the dayshift (7a-7p) there are a total of 8 physicians working; 7 rounding physicians seeing 20-22 patients and 1 admitter physician with 1 dedicated APC handling an average of 16 admissions, 1 swing physician and 1 APC (10a-10p), who handles 10-12 admissions. At night (7p-7a), we have 1 nocturnist physician and 1 APC, who handle roughly 12-15 admissions plus 160-180 cross coverage beds. There is a newly formed GME IM residency program that will have physicians assisting on admissions in both the day and nighttime capacity. There is full specialty support in place as well as a rapid response team to handle codes and procedures. The current EMR in place at all St. David's locations is Meditech. The Staff Physician (Psychiatry) is assigned to the VA San Francisco Health Care System (VASFHCS), Mental Health Service, providing comprehensive, efficient, compassionate, high quality healthcare to all patients, functioning as a member of the inter-disciplinary team providing clinical care to the patients at VASFHCS. As a Staff Psychiatrist, the incumbent will function primarily in a clinical inpatient position within the Acute Recovery Center (inpatient hospital), providing psychiatric care to Veterans admitted into the unit including providing psychiatric evaluation and treatment in collaboration with other members of the health care team. Within this role, the incumbent also serves as an Interventional Psychiatry provider, participating with the administration of Ketamine, Electroconvulsive Treatment, and/or Transmagnetic Cranial Stimulation services to veterans at the San Francisco Veteran's Administration Healthcare System. Duties include complying with VA directives, performing staff evaluations and supervision of psychiatrists and nurse practitioners, supervision and mentorship of UCSF trainees, and also serves as VA faculty back up, providing supervision for on call UCSF residents at the SFVA.
