Obtains CT images according to established protocols. In doing so, ensures the patient is properly prepared, positioned, immobilized, protective shielding used when applicable and correct technical factors are selected. Performs CTA imaging: Carotid, Head, Vertebral, Run-Offs, PE critical bolus timing, including Advanced CTA studies such as TAVR(Trans Catheter Aortic Valve Replacement), EVAR(Endovascular Aneurysm Repair) and Cardiac imaging. Maintains working knowledge of pharmacology to ensure lab results are obtained prior to scheduled exam. Maintain knowledge of physiology needed to produce quality scans when ideal conditions cannot be met. Maintain knowledge of physics to lower patient dose on CT scanner. Interpret technical factors to increase quality or speed of scan. Work is typically performed in a clinical environment. Job Description: Completes assessments as established by scope of practice and unit standards. Addresses physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patient and family throughout the continuum of care. Formulates, coordinates, and provides plan of care as established in unit standards including, patient and family education, family needs and discharge planning throughout hospitalization with members of the interdisciplinary team. Provides direct patient care including, treatments, medications, and diagnostic studies according to policy and procedure.
