Responsibilities Conduct medical histories and physical examinations. Review of required medical tests and documents pertaining to consultations and medical histories Secure a thorough health history from the applicant and record findings. Assess applicant medical documentation and rendering their medical opinion on an applicant s medical fitness for programs applying for Apply accession medical standards to determine applicant medical qualifications. Become proficient in the application of accession medical standards to determine suitability of applicants for military service. Provide highest regard to applicant dignity. Abide by and follow IAW, Privacy Act and HIPPA Participate in MEPS local, medical peer reviews. Use Philosophy Known as Red Carpet Treatment Comply with all installation policies and procedures. Qualifications Completed an Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association (AOA) accredited residency or have provided direct patient care as an independent practitioner within the last three (3) years. Graduates of a foreign medical school are required to possess both a Medical License and Certification by the Education Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) Possess a current unrestricted license from any one of the 50 U.S. States, the District of Columbia, The Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands Minimum of one (1) year post graduate experience within the last three (3) years Possess and maintain a current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA). BLS must include Hands-On skills session. Endocrinology Physician

The VA New York Harbor Healthcare System (NYHHCS) is a multi-site medical system that includes a major medical facility in Manhattan, Brooklyn, St. Albans campus in Queens, and two Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs). VA NYHHCS is an academic facility with teaching and research programs. Major Duties and Responsibilities : This part-time Endocrinologist position is located at the Manhattan VA Medical Center and supports the Network's mission to care for our Veterans with compassion and excellence. The position involves inpatient and outpatient Endocrinology Medicine. Duties of the position include, but are not limited to: Diagnose and treat various endocrine system disorders, including diabetes, thyroid disorders, adrenal disorders, and pituitary disorders. Provide comprehensive endocrine care to veteran patients. Conduct outpatient clinic visits and inpatient consultations. Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with other healthcare providers. Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests and procedures relevant to endocrinology. Educate patients on disease management, lifestyle changes, and preventive measures. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case discussions. Supervise and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows. Engage in research activities and contribute to medical knowledge in the field of endocrinology.
