Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner Howard County General Hospital is seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Respiratory Care Practitioner - to provide high-quality respiratory care and diagnostic services across multiple clinical areas. This role supports inpatient and emergency care, pulmonary diagnostics, pulmonary rehabilitation, and other specialized respiratory and neurodiagnostic services as assigned. In this role, you will assess patients, perform diagnostic testing, deliver respiratory treatments, support airway and ventilatory management, and collaborate with physicians and the healthcare team to develop and carry out patient care plans. You may also be cross-trained to support Pulmonary Rehab, Pulmonary Diagnostics, EEG, and NCV testing, depending on departmental needs. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital environment. You should be comfortable using respiratory and diagnostic equipment, documenting care accurately, and providing patient education and support. Responsibilities Provide respiratory care to inpatients and outpatients in accordance with physician orders, clinical pathways, protocols, and medical direction. Review patient records, collect clinical information, and perform patient assessments. Perform diagnostic measurements and tests, including bedside pulmonary function parameters and arterial blood gas acquisition. Provide therapeutic interventions related to airway management, secretion removal, oxygenation, and ventilation support. Prepare, calibrate, and maintain respiratory equipment and supplies. Assist with patient transport, documentation, discharge planning, and patient education. Participate in clinical rounds, emergency response teams, and other assigned hospital responsibilities. Support pulmonary diagnostics, pulmonary rehabilitation, and EEG-related testing as assigned. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record and departmental records. Qualifications Graduate of an approved Respiratory Care Practitioner program. Associate’s degree required; BS/BA preferred. Current active Maryland license and NBRC registration. Current CPR certification required. BLS and ACLS certification required; ACLS must be obtained within six months of hire. Must pass hospital Arrhythmia test within three months. PALS certification preferred. Strong knowledge of respiratory anatomy, physiology, and diagnostic procedures. Ability to use respiratory equipment and troubleshoot mechanical issues. PA - Inpatient Urology

Sibley Memorial Hospital is a non-profit, full service 318 bed acute care community hospital serving the Washington, DC area. Sibley offers medical, surgical, intensive care, obstetric, oncology, orthopaedic, skilled nursing inpatient services, and a state-of-the-art 24-hour Emergency Department. Sibley's campus, with its new patient tower, is also home to the Johns Hopkins Kimmel Cancer Center, the Johns Hopkins National Proton Therapy Center, Grand Oaks an assisted living residence a medical building with physician offices and an ambulatory surgery and imaging center. The Physician Assistant - Inpatient Urology provides direct assistance to the primary surgeon during surgical procedures. Knowledge of and ability to maintain sterile technique required. Knowledgeable about diagnostic ancillary testing and interpretation of test results, medications and current treatment regimes required. The Physician Assistant performs preoperative histories and physicals on patients for each attending physician.
