Zeochem is seeking an experienced Wastewater Utility Operator. The ideal candidate should have: Wastewater treatment experience including handling caustics and acids A mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and maintain equipment including automated valves, performance pumps, MAG Drive pumps, agitator/gear box (for oil), and wastewater auto sampler Team oriented approach to support maintenance and production OVERVIEW: The Wastewater Utility Operator monitors all on-site Utility Systems to support the manufacturing of Molecular Sieves. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Checks pH levels of all wastewater streams to verify Wastewater Treatment plant is operating within specification; notifies supervisor if problems ariseMakes routine Wastewater Treatment plant system checks and responds to all associated alarms during shiftCleans and calibrates pH probes; uses washing, acid cleaning and/or silicate cleaning procedures as required (records data as necessary)Monitors and records data on all utilities to insure they are operating properly in support of operations including, but is not limited to, wastewater, air dryer, DI water system, cooling tower, and all other on-site utilitiesChecks acid and caustic rates and water quality of the DI water systemInitiates purchase order for parts and supplies as necessary for the operation of the various utilitiesPerforms PMs on wastewater systemsPerforms other duties as assigned REQUIRED EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required Hazardous chemical experience - caustics and acids, required Mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and maintain equipment including automated valves, performance pumps, MAG Drive pumps, agitator/gear box (for oil), and wastewater auto sampler, required Control system experience and basic electrical experience, required Experience unloading trucks, as well as connecting/disconnecting chemical drums, required Availability for off shift coverage to support needs including emergency response, required Must be able to successfully pass pre-employment physical, drug test, and background check Zeochem has a full range of benefits.
