Your Role at BaxterWe are seeking a strategic and hands‑on Senior Manager of Indirect Tax to lead all indirect tax matters across the Americas region, including the United States, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, and other Latin American countries. This role oversees compliance, audit defense, planning, and process improvement initiatives across sales & use tax, VAT, GST, and other indirect taxes. For someone with strong indirect tax fundamentals who wants to broaden their regional impact, build a modernized function, and grow into greater leadership responsibility over time, this role offers a meaningful and exciting path forward.What You'll Be DoingLead the Americas indirect tax function across the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Brazil, and LATAM.Oversee compliance, reporting, audit defense, and tax registrations across all jurisdictions.Develop and execute a regional indirect tax strategy aligned with global tax and business goals.Ensure timely and accurate filing of sales & use tax, GST/HST, VAT, ICMS/ISS, and related returns.Manage audits, inquiries, documentation, and interactions with tax authorities.Partner with IT, Finance, Supply Chain, and Procurement to optimize systems and tax determination.Drive automation, standardization, and data integrity across indirect tax processes.Advise on tax implications of business initiatives, including supply chain changes, M&A, and new market entries.What You'll BringBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, Law, or a related field; CPA, JD, or advanced certification preferred.8 years of progressive indirect tax experience, ideally within a multinational environment.Deep knowledge of indirect tax laws across the Americas, with strong U.S. expertise.Proven experience managing audits, controversy matters, and indirect tax technology platforms.Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills, with fluency in English; Spanish or Portuguese is a plus.Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional initiatives, mentor team members, and manage complex projects.Familiarity with JD Edwards, SAP, Vertex, automation tools, analytics, or GenAI‑driven tax solutions.Baxter is committed to supporting the needs for flexibility in the workplace. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position is also eligible for discretionary bonuses and long-term incentive.
