Bryant University HVAC Mechanic (2nd Shift) Full-Time Position Summary The HVAC Mechanic reports to the Assistant Director of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing. Their duties include but are not limited to, the following: Installation, maintenance and repair of all refrigeration, heating, air-conditioning and air-handling equipment used throughout the campus. Principal Accountabilities Installation, repair, maintenance and inspection of domestic and commercial refrigeration, air-conditioning, heating, cold storage, air-handling and pneumatic systems Services and calibrates automatic controls, electrical and pneumatic Services and performs minor repairs to motors Services and overhauls compressors, pumps, fans, condensers, chillers, gauges, recorders, hot water boilers and other auxiliary equipment and/or components or that equipment involved in refrigeration, air-handling, air-conditioning and heating Performs minor welding repairs, gas, electric-brazing, cutting and silver soldering Other related duties as assigned. Qualifications This position requires appropriate licensure and three (3) years’ experience as an HVAC Mechanic or the equivalency of this type of work. Must be knowledgeable in all phases of air-conditioning and refrigeration, control systems, heating systems, gauges and recording equipment. Requires a basic knowledge of electricity and its functions as applied to air-conditioning, air-handling and refrigerated systems.
