Unit Description: Medical ICU (MICU) – Where Excellence Meets Compassion Step into the heart of critical care at our 21-bed Medical/Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, where every shift is a chance to make a profound impact. Complex Care, Advanced Skills In the MICU, you’ll care for some of the most critically ill patients in the region. Our diverse and high-acuity population includes individuals experiencing: Neurological emergencies : Stroke, Seizures, Guillain-Barré (GB), TNK, Thrombectomies Cardiac crises : Myocardial Infarction (MI), CHF, IABP, Impella, Cardiac Arrest, ECMO Pulmonary challenges : COPD, ILD, PNA, COVID ICU Severe infections : Sepsis, Septic Emboli Metabolic and toxicologic emergencies : DKA, Overdose (OD), Liver Failure, Renal Failure Gastrointestinal bleeding : GIB Advanced therapies : CRRT, CDT End-of-life (EOL) care : Compassionate, patient-centered support for patients and families This environment demands sharp clinical judgment, rapid decision-making, and a deep commitment to continuous learning. Candidates with 2 years or more of ICU experience will be considered first. On-call: Not required. Requirements: Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the State of Vermont required. ADN required, BSN preferred. Appropriate experience in specific clinical area. Varies by unit.
