Epic Revenue Cycle Applications Analyst

The Epic Revenue Cycle Applications Analyst is responsible for the design, build, configuration, optimization, and support of Epic’s Resolute Professional Billing (PB) and Hospital Billing (HB) applications within an AMS environment. This role plays a key part in supporting end-to-end revenue cycle operations—from charge capture and claim submission to payment posting and account resolution. The analyst acts as a subject matter expert (SME) in Epic billing workflows, leveraging both technical and operational expertise to ensure accurate, efficient, and compliant financial performance across client organizations. The ideal candidate brings 5 years of hands-on experience with Epic PB/HB and related modules, strong understanding of billing and reimbursement workflows, and the ability to collaborate with clients to improve revenue cycle outcomes through system optimization and best practices. Key Responsibilities: Epic Application Design, Build & Configuration Lead configuration and maintenance of Epic Resolute Professional Billing (PB) and Hospital Billing (HB) systems to support accurate charge capture, claims generation, and account management. Design and optimize billing workflows, charge review work queues, claim edit rules, and remittance processing. Maintain Charge Router, claims setup, remittance codes, and fee schedule configurations. Collaborate with clinical and patient access teams to ensure seamless integration between modules. Support implementation of new payer contracts, billing rules, and reimbursement models as clients expand services or enter new markets. Participate in Epic version upgrades, validating and implementing new functionality to improve operational efficiency. Maintain build documentation in accordance with AMS standards and governance protocols. AMS Support & Maintenance Provide advanced L2/L3-level application support for multiple clients’ Epic PB/HB environments. Execute configuration updates, regression testing, and performance tuning in alignment with AMS SLAs. Identify revenue leakage or bottlenecks within workflows and recommend sustainable optimizations. Collaborate with client business offices, HIM, and Patient Financial Services teams to ensure billing compliance and accuracy. Support periodic audits and reconciliation processes, including coordination with finance and compliance departments. Subject Matter Expertise & Client Advisory Serve as the Epic Revenue Cycle SME, advising clients on billing best practices, optimization strategies, and regulatory compliance. Offer Epic product insight regarding PB/HB functionality, roadmap developments, and module limitations. Contribute SME input to RFP responses, solution design sessions, and new business pursuits within the AMS and consulting portfolio. Collaboration & Delivery Excellence Collaborate across AMS workstreams (Access, Ambulatory, ClinDoc, Ancillary, MyChart) to deliver integrated Epic support and ensure smooth financial workflows. Mentor junior analysts and contribute to internal AMS knowledge management and best-practice repositories.
