Job Details Role summary (who they want) They’re looking for a 5–8 year plaintiff-side PI associate who can run files with increasing independence—comfortable taking depositions, managing discovery, working up damages, and driving cases toward resolution (and trial when needed). Responsibilities Manage a plaintiff personal injury caseload from intake through resolution (pre-suit litigation matters, depending on need). Draft and argue motions (dispositive and non-dispositive), handle written discovery, and manage case strategy. Take and defend depositions (parties, fact witnesses, treating physicians/experts as appropriate). Lead settlement negotiations and prepare for/attend mediations and settlement conferences. Trial preparation: exhibit and witness prep, outlines, subpoenas, trial binders, coordinating experts, and supporting trial team as needed. Client communication: regular updates, expectation-setting, medical treatment tracking, damages development, and lien coordination (as applicable). Qualifications 5–8 years of experience in plaintiff personal injury (required). NJ bar admission in good standing (NY is a plus, not required). Proven experience with litigation workflow: discovery, motion practice, depositions, and negotiations. Strong writing skills (motions/briefs/demand packages) and confident courtroom presence. Able to work semi-autonomously with solid judgment, organization, and urgency. Nice-to-haves (great signals for this firm) Experience with catastrophic injury, complex auto/trucking, premises, product liability, or med-mal exposure. Meaningful deposition volume and/or first-chair trial exposure (even if limited). Comfort working in a metro NY/NJ environment (venue familiarity across the region is helpful).
