This role supports early identification and treatment of clinical instability to prevent cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, or other adverse events. The RRT RN collaborates with physicians, bedside nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to stabilize patients and facilitate appropriate escalation of care. 1. Responds promptly to Rapid Response Team activations throughout the hospital. 2. Performs comprehensive, focused patient assessments to identify clinical deterioration. 3. Initiates evidence-based interventions to stabilize patients, including airway management, medication administration, and hemodynamic support. 4. Collaborates with physicians and advanced practice providers to determine a plan of care. 5. Assists with transfer of patients to higher levels of care (e.g., ICU). 6. Provides clinical support and guidance to bedside nursing staff during acute events. 7. Participates in code blue events as assigned. 8. Documents all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in the electronic medical record. 9. Position Overview Department: Cath Lab Schedules Available: Full time, day shift PRN, day shift Work Location: UAB St Vincent's Benefits for eligible positions only include: generous paid time off, paid parental leave, Associate Assistance Program, Tuition Reimbursement Program, and more What You Will Do Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate. Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Note and carry out physician and nursing orders. Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. What You Will Need Licensure / Certification / Registration: BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted. Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. Education: Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing and professional licensure at time of hire required. Additional Preferences No additional preferences.
