Job Description Locum OB/GYN Opportunity – Coastal North Carolina Region A respected community hospital near Wilmington, North Carolina is seeking a Board-Certified OB/GYN to provide weekend call coverage for an established and collaborative women's health program. This opportunity offers a manageable call volume, strong clinical support, and the ability to practice the full scope of obstetrics and gynecology in a well-equipped hospital setting. You will join an experienced team consisting of two OB/GYN physicians and four dedicated nursing professionals who are committed to delivering high-quality care to the surrounding community. The call schedule is shared among providers, creating a balanced workload while ensuring comprehensive coverage for patients. The hospital maintains an average inpatient census of approximately six patients per day, with an additional two to three obstetric evaluations daily. Providers can expect approximately 30 to 40 deliveries per month and around 14 surgical cases monthly, offering a healthy mix of obstetric and gynecologic care without overwhelming volume. Responsibilities include managing labor and delivery, performing cesarean sections and vaginal deliveries, and providing gynecologic surgical care as needed. Additional procedures may include hysterectomies, postpartum tubal ligations, circumcisions, dilation and curettage procedures, and laparotomy for ectopic pregnancy. There are no ICU or critical care responsibilities, and providers are not expected to run codes, allowing them to remain focused on women's health services.
