Job Title Registered Nurse - Senior Living Centre Specialty: Geriatric Nursing, Community Living Center / Long-Term Care Place of Work (City/State): VA Palo Alto Health Care System (VAPAHCS) Menlo Park, CA (primary) Palo Alto, CA (as needed) Duration: 1-year contract with the possibility of a 1-year extension Shift Schedule: Rotating 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts covering 24/7 operations (days, evenings, nights). No on-call. How Many Shifts Needed Per Month Full-time coverage up to 40 hours/week per RN Schedule issued 2 4 weeks in advance (Exact monthly shift count varies by staffing plan) Credentialing / Onboarding Time: 6 to 8 weeks License: Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license (State of California), No adverse licensure history Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) Experience Needed Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience Must include geriatric nursing experience Special Skills Needed Geriatric assessment and care planning Long-term care / community living center experience Strong clinical judgment and documentation skills English fluency (read, write, speak) Ability to comply with VA clinical, privacy, and security requirements Responsibilities Provide direct geriatric nursing care to VA beneficiaries Perform RN duties consistent with national and Joint Commission standards Administer medications, treatments, and nursing interventions Coordinate patient care and communicate with interdisciplinary teams Maintain compliance with VA policies, infection control, and documentation standards.
