Instrumentation Control Technician

Job Title: Instrumentation Control Technician Location: Lyndhurst, NJ Type: Contract To Hire Compensation: $33 - $36 hourly Contractor Work Model: Onsite Hours: Monday through Friday (6AM to 230PM) Responsibilities: Analyze, document, and test computer control systems based on user specifications and operating requirements. Develop, test, and document computer programs related to machine control and operating systems. Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and calibration of instrumentation and control devices to ensure accuracy and reliability. Manage the calibration program, including scheduling, performing calibrations, and maintaining records in Calibration Manager Software in compliance with ISO 9000 standards. Support the maintenance and repair of labeling equipment, electrical systems, and electronic devices. Apply systems analysis techniques and collaborate with end users to identify and resolve control system needs. Provide weekend or on-call support as needed for troubleshooting and plant operations. Qualifications / Experience: 5–10 years of experience in an ISO 9000 or process-type industrial facility (chemical, pharmaceutical, or food industry preferred). Minimum 1 year of relevant experience with Technical School training; college degree a plus. Strong electrical background with hands-on experience in computer systems, PLCs (Allen-Bradley preferred), and pneumatic/hydraulic devices. Familiarity with CMMS software and smart instruments is a plus. Skilled in analyzing, testing, and troubleshooting with an organized, methodical approach to problem-solving. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings (P&IDs) and ladder logic diagrams. Proficient in performing instrument calibration and preventive maintenance. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
