Job Description: Reporting to the Vice President for Development, the Director of Planned Giving will lead a comprehensive planned giving program for Siena University. The Director has primary responsibility for the management and strategic growth of the program. The Director is responsible for the development and implementation of proactive strategies designed to aggressively market and secure planned and deferred gifts from University constituents. The Director manages a portfolio of prospects that are inclined to make a gift in support a wide range of University initiatives. This position works closely with key members of the Development staff to establish and communicate the organizational vision and goals, both multi-year and annual. Responsibilities: Lead in the creation, design and execution of Siena University planned giving strategies and goals and develop metrics to measure ongoing success in expanding the current donor base of support. Create and lead comprehensive marketing strategies for planned giving. Manage a portfolio of 150 prospects and generate prospects visits each month leading to the growth in the number of completed major, planned, and blended gift solicitations. Provide personalized illustrations of planned gifts and create proposals for prospects. Track mature estate expectancies to ensure the preservation and timely distribution of all estate gifts to Siena. Coordinate and prepare planned giving materials including letters, newsletters, brochures, and articles for Siena publications. Prepare proposals, gift acknowledgement and other data important for the maintenance of donor/prospect records. Build and nurture strong relationships with financial, legal and tax advisors. Keep up to date and be proficient with state and federal regulations for the charitable gift program. Maintain PG Calc software and Siena website pertaining to planned giving. Partner, coach, equip and encourage Development staff to pursue planned gift opportunities, assisting them in the design and implementation of individualized strategies for the identification, cultivation, and solicitation and stewardship of planned, major and blended gifts as appropriate. Assist with Development functions including our comprehensive campaign, events, screening sessions, committee meetings and volunteer activities as needed or required. Participate in Development and Alumni events, including Alumni Weekend, donor functions (luncheons/dinners, etc.), athletic events that can be utilized as cultivation and/or stewardship activities for prospects and donors. Partner with President, Deans, Board members and appropriate university leaders for the purposes of prospect cultivation, solicitation and stewardship as needed. Implement best practices in gift planning and demonstrate a command of industry standards and procedures. Develop a strong working knowledge of Siena University funding priorities and campaign objectives to articulate a compelling case for support to all constituents. Requirements: Bachelor's degree required. Masters degree preferred. Minimum of 7 years of experience with progressive experience in Development, preferably in higher education or equivalent experience in a related field. Proficiency in estate planning and other deferred giving vehicles. Demonstrated successful track record in the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of major and planned gifts ($50,000 and above) preferred. Proven success in closing traditional and complex planned gifts, including but not limited to, bequests, gift annuities, remainder trusts and gifts of real estate. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills and aptitude to work with people of different ages and temperaments. Superior written and oral communication skills. Job Summary Under minimal supervision, set up, adjust, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain assigned equipment with responsibility for production and quality. Assemble and test equipment to verify correct operation and production. Analyze and record cause of production delays on daily production reports and initiate procedures to solve equipment malfunctions. Examine defects and analyze spoilage causes and, where possible, take corrective action and verify the corrective action has eliminated the problems. Ability to certify on all industrial lift equipment. Pickers, Reaches, Skates, Booms, Scissor lifts, etc. Oversee projects as assigned. Projects will include minor space renovations, inventory management, contractor oversight, and building efficiency improvements. Freight Handler Part-Time

POSITION OVERVIEW: Transport freight across dock area to/from trailers for loading to trailers. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Perform freight handling using appropriate motorized and manual equipment, including but not limited to: forklift, pallet jack and hand truck. • Verify documentation matches freight description (e.g. type, weight, hazardous materials), using current electronic or manual system. • Secure freight inside trailers using appropriate tools and supplies (e.g. pallets, straps, rope). • Recoup/repair damaged freight when necessary. • Verify and complete required documentation and reports. • Assist customers with freight and freight documentation as needed. • Perform hostling duties if required. • Comply with all applicable laws/regulations, as well as company policies/procedures. • Perform other duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS • High school diploma or equivalent, preferred. • Must be at least 18 years of age. • Prior experience in warehousing, freight handling and/or fork lift operations preferred. • If hostler/yard mule duties required, experience preferred. • Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator. • Basic written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to lift/carry hand freight of varying weights several times a week, to lift dock plates weighing approximately 100 pounds, and to open trailer doors requiring approximately 75 pounds of lift force, up to several times per day or more. • Ability to bend, twist, squat, pushing/pulling freight throughout shift. • Ability to work independently and/or as a team member. • Previous dock/warehouse experience preferred. WORKING CONDITIONS: • Dock environment; exposure to varied weather conditions, exhaust, fumes, dust, noise. • Hours may vary due to operational need. • Frequent contact with service center personnel; fast-paced, deadline oriented.
