Job Description The Millington Community-Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) has an opening for a Neurologist that offers a dual academic appointment with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC). The CBOC is a part of the Department of Veterans Affairs and falls under the Memphis VA Medical Center. Its one of the largest of twelve community-based clinics within the Memphis VA clinical network. The Memphis VA is a 1a complexity tertiary care VA healthcare system located in one of the fastest growing Veteran population regions in the United States. The main campus provides comprehensive care to almost 69,000 Veterans in a 52-county area of Western Tennessee, Northern Mississippi, and Northeast Arkansas. It includes 236 inpatient beds with a 26-bed Spinal Cord Injury Unit. Share attending call responsibilities with other cardiologists in covering some nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Lead and manage the Cardiology/Coronary Care Unit (CCU) team consisting of Cardiology Fellows, Internal Medicine Residents, Medical Students, Pharmacists, and Mid-level Providers while on inpatient service. Give didactic lectures to Cardiology Fellows and participate in academic activities such as journal reviews, grand rounds, and conferences.
