Primary Responsibility / Summary The Material Handler I performs a variety of material handling tasks to create empty MUTs (Mobile Unit Transport) and Blue Bins while working safely to support the efficient operation of the department. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Operate material handling equipment—including machine tippers, stackers, balers, compactors, and conveyors—to safely empty, move, stack, and un-stack MUTs and Blue Bins, following all established safety procedures and guidelines. Ensure all MUTs and Blue Bins are properly labeled (Donations, Commodities, etc.), sliding pin locks are securely fastened, and containers are free of debris and old labels. Ensure recyclables are placed into proper containers (metal, cardboard, etc.). Build and palletize empty gaylords for commodities; ensuring heavier commodities have adequate support. Use material handling equipment (i.e. pallet jack, hand truck, furniture dolly) in a safe and proper manner. Assist drivers with the safe loading and unloading of MUTs and Blue Bins. Mechanical Engineering Technician Responsibilities Gather, maintain, format, compile, and manipulate technical data such as laboratory or material test results and engineering design changes. Produce engineering documentation including reports, drawings, flow charts, block diagrams, and schematics. Prepare reports and summaries including quantitative analysis. Provide technical support to engineers on a variety of technical tasks. Assist with equipment scoping and qualification activities. Support general lab functions including calibration, safety procedure implementation, and routine equipment maintenance. Assist with prototype processes and test setups. Execute designed test protocols and conduct testing. Document and communicate test results effectively. Handle test samples and chemicals used for conditioning and testing. Mechanical Engineering Technician Requirements High School Diploma or GED. Minimum 8 years of experience in a lab environment (corporate or school) or technician experience in a regulated environment. Experience following written procedures and working collaboratively with a team. Attendance is mandatory for the first 90 days. Mechanical Engineering Technician Preferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in a technical field. 2–4 years of experience in a laboratory or R&D setting. Ability to understand and perform designed test procedures. Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams. Strong communication skills with lab and extended team members. Proficiency in personal computers. Ability to train lower-level technicians.
