More about our team 6A Telemetry & Progressive Care Unit is a dynamic, blended unit with 36 total beds : 24 Telemetry beds staffed at a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio 12 Progressive Care beds staffed at a 1:4 ratio You'll care for a diverse patient population, including: Chest pain, arrhythmias, post-cardiac caths Post-pacemaker or ICD implants Respiratory distress, renal failure, pulmonary embolism Vascular interventions requiring high-risk anticoagulation Stable post-STEMI patients High-level oxygen support, IV drips, DKA Post-op and medical patients requiring enhanced monitoring This fast-paced, high-acuity environment offers exposure to "a little bit of everything," making it an excellent place to grow your skills or explore future specialization. How you'll contribute A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role: Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments. Documents patient care and monitors patient condition, communicating with care team, physician, patient, and family. Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation. Coordinates patient care across disciplines, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and support needs. Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, and circumstances. Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of patients. Participates in performance improvement and continuing education. What we're looking for The right person who will provide direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Applicants should have a current RN VA or compact state license and possess an associate's degree in nursing.
