As a Senior AI Risk Product Manager on AI.x, you will help advance Schwab’s risk management and compliance goals by driving the development and execution of innovative AI product & workflow experiences in partnership with our Risk Management, Compliance, and Cyber teams. Your work will focus on identifying and executing on opportunities to leverage GenAI to enhance control testing and risk monitoring across operational, corporate risk oversight, and cyber risk management. What You’ll do Collaboratively define the GenAI platform vision and roadmap for risk, compliance, and cyber use cases. Partner with R&D and risk stakeholders to identify impactful projects and define evaluation strategies for measuring and monitoring the quality of generative AI output in risk and compliance contexts. Participate in model validation to ensure continued performance, regulatory alignment, and business value of AI tools. Define metrics to estimate hallucination impact, output acceptance, safety concerns, and compliance effectiveness. Communicate key metrics and risk insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, highlighting trends, variance, and business impact. Distill MVPs and iterative deliverables from long-term product visions and goals, focusing on risk and compliance transformation. Champion the near-term product vision, ensuring alignment with Schwab’s strategic goals and regulatory requirements. Oversee the product lifecycle from concept to launch, including user research with risk and compliance teams, requirements gathering, and go-to-market strategy. Proactively identify and mitigate risks throughout the product development process, with a focus on regulatory and operational risk. Build enablement and onboarding plans to empower internal risk and compliance teams to leverage platform tools. Rigorously and dynamically prioritize the product roadmap, ensuring the development team is creating value with each iterative delivery. What you have Required Qualification BA/BS degree 7-10 years of professional IT or Product development experience 5 years of direct product experience 3 years of experience working closely with software engineers Demonstrable understanding of generative AI technology, architecture, and terminology including LLMs, RAG, system prompts, agentic, etc. Experience using/building generative AI solutions, ideally in risk, compliance, or cyber domains. Preferred Qualifications: MBA, JD or Graduate degree in Computer Science or other field related to AI. Professional experience in engineering, data science, risk management, compliance, or related field. Experience building Agentic workflows (e.g., with Copilot Studio, Vertex AI Agent builder etc.). Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. Familiarity with financial services and the regulations that apply to the industry. Strong business influence skills. Ability to distill strategy, analytics and varied sets of input to drive decisions across stakeholder communities. Building credibility with peers and key stakeholders (at all levels of the organization) to be able to drive action. Ability to develop multiple solutions to the same problem and identify the common failure modes associated with each. Passion for identifying user pain points, generating ideas to relieve them, and acting swiftly to test potential solutions. As a Sr Responsible AI Researcher, you will bridge the gap between regulation, ethical principles, and technical innovation, shaping how AI is safely and ethically deployed across our products and services. You’ll collaborate across research, engineering, product, legal, compliance, and risk teams to design technical guardrails, evaluation frameworks, and monitoring systems that set industry benchmarks for fairness, transparency, and trust. In this highly visible and cross-functional role, you will ensure Schwab’s AI systems set industry benchmarks for safety, fairness, and transparency. You’ll work closely with teams across research, engineering, product, legal, compliance, and risk to address complex and emerging challenges in responsible AI. This role offers significant opportunities to innovate—designing and implementing solutions for problems where established best practices may not yet exist—and to help shape the technical and organizational standards that guide Schwab’s AI systems. What You’ll Do Design and implement innovative methods for bias detection and develop technical guardrails aligned with ethical AI principles.
