Legal Administrator
Connolly Gallagher LLP is seeking a strategic, highly organized, and hands on legal administrator. This role works closely with firm leadership to support each practice area, develop long term strategic plans and ensure operational efficiencies. Position Summary The legal administrator serves as the chief administrative and operational leader of the law firm and is responsible for the effective management of the firm's business operations. Working closely with the managing partners and practice leaders, the administrator oversees finance, human resources, technology, facilities, marketing, compliance, and administrative functions to support the firm's strategic and financial objectives. The position requires strong leadership, financial acumen, organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and professional staff. Firm Administration Manage the daily business operations of the firm. Develop and implement administrative policies and procedures. Support the partners in strategic planning and operational initiatives. Coordinate firm-wide projects and organizational priorities. Prepare reports, presentations, and recommendations for firm leadership. Financial Management Develop and monitor the annual operating budget. Oversee accounting, billing, collections, accounts payable, payroll, and financial reporting. Monitor firm profitability, productivity, and cash flow. Work with outside auditors and banks. Analyze financial performance and recommend operational improvements. Human Resources Oversee recruitment, onboarding, compensation, benefits, and employee relations. Administer performance management and professional development programs. Ensure compliance with employment laws and firm policies. Support attorneys and managers in personnel matters. Foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture. Technology and Operations Oversee information technology systems, cybersecurity, software applications, and vendor relationships. Evaluate and implement technology solutions that improve efficiency and client service. Ensure business continuity, data protection, and disaster recovery planning. Facilities Management Manage office space, leases, maintenance, security, and office services. Coordinate vendor contracts and facility improvements. Ensure safe and efficient workplace operations. Risk Management and Compliance Assist firm leadership in managing operational risk. Coordinate insurance coverage, including professional liability and business insurance. Support compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical requirements. Maintain appropriate records and administrative controls. Marketing and Business Development Collaborate with attorneys on marketing and client development initiatives. Oversee administrative support for proposals, events, and communications activities. Assist with strategic growth initiatives and practice expansion opportunities. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, accounting, or related field required. Juris Doctorate, MBA, or legal management certification preferred. Minimum of 5-10 years of progressively responsible management experience. Experience in a law firm, professional services firm, or similar environment preferred. Knowledge of legal industry operations, financial management, and human resources practices.
