Responsibilities - Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication of engines - Diagnose malfunctions and perform necessary repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, and other components - Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, wheel bearings, and other vital parts to ensure proper functioning - Use diagnostic tools to identify electrical system issues and repair or replace faulty components - Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles and equipment to identify potential problems or areas for improvement - Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed - Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment -A Heavy Duty Equipment Mechanic does journey-level work in the maintenance and repair of construction, road maintenance and/or builds and installs or modifies equipment for special purposes.
