Key Responsibilities Read and interpret structural steel drawings, blueprints, and weld symbols Perform layout, fit-up, and assembly of structural steel components Complete FCAW, SMAW, and GMAW welding to AWS standards Verify dimensions, alignment, and weld quality before production Operate fabrication equipment and cutting tools safely Lead small crews and assist the Shop Foreman with daily task coordination Train and mentor Class B and Class C fitters/welders Set the standard for workmanship, productivity, and safety Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures including PPE requirements to perform the job safely Qualifications & Skills 5 years of structural steel fitting and welding experience Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and weld symbols Previous 3G Unlimited Thickness certification preferred Experience with AWS D1.1 standards Ability to pass a 3G AWS weld test using 1/16" dual shield flux core with straight CO2 Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision Weld Test Requirements Candidates must bring: Hard hat Welding helmet Chipping hammer Wire brush Peanut grinder (if available; one can be provided) PPE Required Leather work boots above the ankle (steel toe recommended) Hard hat Work clothing suitable for welding/fabrication No clothing with holes, frayed material, or polyester fabrics Employment Type & Compensation This is a Full-Time | Temp-to- Hire position Pay rate is $27.00 - $32.00 per hour, based on experience Application Window: Open until closed Work Schedule Full-Time Benefits Paid Holidays Medical, Dental, Vision insurance Bereavement Leave Retirement, 401(k) Personal Advancement Employer Information This position is being recruited by NCW on behalf of a client company.
