Under general direction, the Grant Coordinator plans, writes, develops, and coordinates activities related to grant proposals, grant implementation, and grant management; conducts research of potential funding sources; provides analytical and technical assistance in the strategic planning, coordination, and implementation activities to build andsustain programs and services; and performs other duties as assigned. DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS: This classification is distinguished from other professional classes by the incumbent's specialization in the coordination of local, state, and federally funded grants. Positions in this classification perform a broad range of complex administrative support activities with minimal supervision, requiring attention to detail, tact, discretion, diplomacy,initiative, and independent judgment, as well as knowledge of city activities. 9-Month Teaching Faculty (Nursing)

9-Month Teaching Faculty (Nursing) General Description: The primary responsibility of a faculty member at NOVA is to provide quality instruction. NOVA faculty are expected to excel in teaching strategies and classroom management that fully engage students in a classroom, laboratory, or online platform, and engage students in individual conferences and related activities. NOVA faculty help students develop their interests and abilities to their fullest capacity to build stronger citizens within the community. All faculty must be available to teach day, evening, and weekend classes at any of the College’s campuses or off-site locations. Duties and Tasks: Full-time teaching faculty members are responsible for teaching courses offered in traditional, hybrid, and distance learning formats. Full-time 9-month teaching faculty positions carry a normal teaching load of 12-15 credit hours and 15-20 contact hours per semester. Faculty members also serve as faculty advisors, serve on division/campus/college committees, participate in curriculum development, and maintain currency in their discipline. Essential Functions: NOVA faculty are expected to meet assigned classes regularly Submit required records and reports in a timely manner Teach the courses using established texts Conduct requisite student conferences Hold required office hours Attend to assigned divisional and college duties Contribute to the development of the program of instruction Adhere to the statement on professional ethics in accordance with college policies, procedures, and regulations; Answer emails in a responsible fashion Maintain current competence in the particular discipline or field of specialization; and advise students. Employees must reside in Virginia, Maryland, or the District of Columbia. KSAs: Ability to meet the instruction standard of the ACEN for qualified master’s prepared experienced registered nurse for teaching campus and clinical labs and didactic. Ability to teach various courses in the designated discipline/field of study. Ability to teach in traditional, hybrid, and distance learning environments Ability to teach assigned day, evening and/or weekend classes Have knowledge of and be able to serve as faculty advisors, conduct requisite office hours, and conduct student conferences Ability to serve on assigned division/campus/college committees and participate in curriculum development. Required Qualifications: Master’s degree in nursing. Qualifying academic degree must be awarded by and/or completed with a regionally accredited institution. Active, unexpired Commonwealth of Virginia licensure as a registered nurse with no restrictions is required as a condition for hire and for continued employment if hired. If current licensure is with another state or is not active, then you must be able obtain or renew licensure with the Commonwealth of Virginia. Clinical experience and teaching (didactic) experience in a college and university setting. At least two (2) years of full-time direct care client experience. Part-time experience will be converted to its full-time equivalent. CPR Certification for Healthcare Providers. Additional Considerations: Experience teaching/supervising ADN nursing students in a clinical setting. Previous academic experience such as classroom teaching, online teaching and/or curriculum development in a community college setting.
