Family Practice - With OB Physician
Adelphi is seeking a licensed Medical Doctor (MD or DO) with residency training in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine for a full-time, short-term outpatient clinic assignment (minimum 2 months) in Starr County, Texas. The ideal candidate will deliver outpatient care and manage chronic and complex medical conditions. Job Quick Facts • Reference : BD 673-54 • Profession: Physician • Specialty: Family Medicine / Internal Medicine • Location: Starr County, Texas • Position Type: Full-Time Short-Term Contract (Minimum 2 Months / 120 Days) • Schedule: Monday Friday 8:00 AM 5:00 PM • Start Date: As soon as candidate is available (pending completion of compliance) • Patient Load: Approximately patients per day Requirements • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) • Residency training in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine • Current Texas medical license in good standing with no history of sanctions • Board eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine • Active DEA, NPI, and CPR/BLS certifications • ECFMG certification, if applicable • Ability to meet all agency and facilty required immunization requirements • Successful completion of required drug screening and fingerprinting • Completion of all required facility and agency training prior to start • Experience treating chronic medical conditions in an outpatient clinic setting • Experience working with patients with behavioral health needs • Bilingual Spanish/English preferred Responsibilities • Manage a daily patient load of approximately patients per 8-hour clinic shift. • Provide care for new, established, follow-up, and walk-in/triage patients. • Provide onsite, direct outpatient medical services during assigned clinic hours. • Obtain accurate medical histories and perform comprehensive physical examinations. • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic medical conditions using evidence-based practices. • Provide direct medical care to patients with complex medical conditions and/or behavioral health needs. • Develop, implement, and document individualized disease management and treatment plans. • Order, review, and interpret laboratory tests and diagnostic studies, including radiology. • Accurately document all patient care in the electronic medical record (EMR) within required timelines. • Submit electronic prescriptions in accordance with clinical protocols. • Participate in Quality Improvement initiatives and maintain regulatory compliance. • Provide individualized medical care in accordance with credentialing and privileging requirements. • Provide minor medical treatment for work-related injuries to employees when requested. • Participate in disaster response and Continuity of Operations (COOP) activities as assigned. • Provide medical services under the supervision of the Medical Director, Chief of Medical Services, or designee. • Ensure medical services meet accepted standards of care and regulatory requirements. • Perform other duties as assigned.
