Position purpose Life Safety Services Inspectors inspect, install and repair passive fire products such as fire and smoke dampers and provide services that deliver solutions that give our customers peace of mind. Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks Testing the operability of fire & smoke dampers in healthcare and commercial facilities per the National Fire Protection Association code Making non-accessible dampers accessible May install access doors and sheet metal Performs minor repairs to fire and smoke dampers Perform quality work within deadlines with or without supervision Providing accurate documentation for customer code compliance · Work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations Maintain professional, timely communication with customers and with other staff members across all levels of the company Attend Job Training Sessions Openness to learning additional passive fire protection services Complete additional courses required by the company Qualifications Experience in customer service and working with the public Experience in mechanical, HVAC, hanging ductwork, electrical repair and installation preferred Experience and comfort using hand tools Experience in carpentry, drywall, and insulation knowledge a plus Ability to interpret blueprints, life safety drawings, etc. Must have ability to work in a variety of circumstances including climbing ladders, scaffolds and high-lift equipment with maximum load of 250 lbs Must be able to work in ducts, crawl spaces and above ceilings that all have limited space Good recordkeeping and tracking of inspections in facilities Some knowledge of computers (Microsoft Word, Excel and Email) Minimum Requirements · Valid Driver’s License · Must be at least 21 years of age · Background & drug test · Travel – Minimum 10 days gone, 4 day- home rotation · Must provide own tools Professional appearance “We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, pregnancy, age, national origin, disability status, genetic information, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law”.
